Come ride Glacier Point Road with me!

I was stoked when I found out Glacier Point Road was opening to bikes while we were in the valley. We rode the road back in 2019 when I was a noob bike rider so I was itching to give it another go!

I drove up to the turn off for Glacier Point road, parked and got myself ready. There were a lot of cars in the parking area but I didn’t see anyone else heading up at the same time as me.

I took off and noticed some big dark clouds up ahead, fingers crossed I wasn’t about to get dumped on! I felt a few drops but got lucky and didn’t get any rain on the trip.

I reached Badger Pass pretty quickly (it’s about 5 miles up) and Brian’s words echoed in my mind. “Badger Pass is 5 miles in and then you only have 10 more to go”. 😂 always very optimistic. There were quite a few cyclists on their way down at this point, everyone with the same silly grin I wore for most of the way up. It’s pretty incredible to be out there, completely alone, seeing part of the park that is untouched for the winter months.

When I reached Glacier Point, I cruised down to the point only to discover I was completely alone! Not a single other person around, which was wild to me! So I sat and ate a bag of chips, Face-timed my mom, and let Brian know I had made it. To see the valley from above is always breathtaking, especially in the summer when the waterfalls are raging.

It was a really incredible day and an experience everyone should be able to have at some point in their lives!

When you tell the owner of an oyster farm you want to go crabbing and he tells you to meet Tom at the docks at 7am, you always say yes!! Successful crabbing mission to say the least! #crabfordays #crabfordinner #crab #crabbing #netartsbay #oregoncoast taken in Netarts, Oregon by @dirtyraskell

Happy that I have a bike (ok, a few bikes 🤣), that My body keeps pushing even when the hills are steep, and that I have a riding buddy who’s always down to skip work on a Friday to go for a ride

Sometimes all you need in life is your favorite travel buddy and a glass (or 5) of good wine
