DT017: Nipple Tapes | Archives 2011 - 2019 Dirty Tapes proudly presents the long-awaited physical release of Nipple Tapes on cassette! This legendary SP-303/404 mystery producer from Russia - who dropped a series of albums starting back in 2011 in the golden era of Soundcloud and Sp-Forums beat exchanges which made their way around the internet- arrives Nipple Tapes - mind blowing and elusive sketches with three-letter titles, all running about a minute or less. This amazing series of cassettes spans through the years and paints many imaginative environments with its collage-style production style and weaving themes of nostalgia and warmth and sadness. Beautiful organic sketches - its a beloved treasure trove which we have the pleasure releasing as a physical release - limited to 200 copies. 100 Translucent White / 100 Mint Green Shells. by @dirtytapes

04.18.12 | ZONA Presents Heatwave (aka DJ Purple Image), Ohbliv, Uplift, Sun Araw, Pilgrim, Bessed Of, North American) at 285 Kent Avenue. One of the first east coast beat shows in NYC put together by Andre (ZONA) who was DJing and skateboarding full time, he was organizing a lot of the early underground shows around Bushwick and putting people on. RIP 285 Kent Ave, great venue. Pure times and folks just being hyped to play shows for the first time, being able to share their music live. Bessed Of (Ritch) of Bootleg Tapes was dubbing his 'Back in the Basement' cassette mixes of classic Memphis rap, he wasn't doing beats yet at the time, was mostly making noise and experimental shit and DJing classic hip hop and underground. Ohbliv came down from Richmond and we drove around , has was an early influence and he has been an underground cat who was making one off beat tapes and his shit, was really a breath of fresh air, flipping classic soul and R&B. He was still even a legend at that time! DJ Purple Image came down from LA, he was touring under the alias Heatwave and he had a crazy tape out at the time called 'Stasis' on Deep Tapes. We was all just sharing tapes and trading ideas, kicking it. Miss those early days. by @dirtytapes
