Hi Europeans… this type of DJ controller is called an electric guitar. And by Europeans I mean ancient Texans of course. by @dirtytexans

How exactly do you come up with the “Texas House” EDM sound? Well first you have to be born in London and South Africa and then move to Texas apparently. by @dirtytexans

Somehow all our influences came together to create the weird mix that is Dirty Texans. EDM, house, country, old time bluegrass and improvised music all rolled into one. Comment “dirty” to get access to our unreleased playlist. by @dirtytexans

House music, but with a little more room for things to happen.

We are Dirty Texans, two brothers from Austin who’ve been getting pretty obsessed with remixing old-time and bluegrass songs into electronic dance music.

This is our take on the old-time classic “Sugar Baby,” with live guitar, DJ decks, improvised synth solos and plenty of space for the music to change every time we play it.

Somewhere between a DJ duo, a live band and a bluegrass jam is where we’ve ended up. House music, EDM, live improvisation and a little jam band DNA.

If you know someone who likes their electronic music with a lot more live musicianship, send this their way. by @dirtytexans

We have a new album coming out October 26.

It’s a short collection of the first 7 original songs we started working on when Dirty Texans began.

To tell you the truth, this whole project kind of started as a joke.

We’d bought a new microphone, and Danny was messing around saying ridiculous things into it.

That turned into a song called “Get Your Effing Cowboy Boots On,” inspired by the thousands of ridiculous bachelor parties you see wandering around Austin, Texas.

We made the track pretty cynically, but the funny thing is, we ended up really liking it. And somewhere along the way, we started taking this whole thing a lot more seriously.

What started as a joke has turned into something we genuinely love making. These first 7 songs are a little snapshot of how it all began.

We’re also working on a covers album to follow this one, including a bunch of the old-time and bluegrass remixes y’all have been hearing us play live.

The new album is out October 26.

If you’re signed up through the link in our bio, you should already have received a link to buy it early, directly from our store.

Do you agree?

We took our weird blend of house music, EDM, old-time, bluegrass, folk, live guitar, synth solos and a whole lot of improvisation, which we’ve started calling Texas House, to Burning Man.

We are Dirty Texans, two brothers from Austin, and we ended up playing 11 sets across the playa, from art cars to camps, sunset to sunrise.

After all that, when people ask us what Burning Man was like, all we can really say is…

Yes. by @dirtytexans

Send this to your Glastonbury crew. Let’s see if it reaches the right people.

We are Dirty Texans, two brothers from Austin making our own collision of old-time, bluegrass and country blues with house music, EDM and live electronic improvisation.

This is our remix of Doc Watson’s “Country Blues,” played live on an art car at Burning Man. DJ decks, live guitar, improvised synth solos and plenty of room for the music to take a different direction every time we play.

Somewhere between a DJ duo, a live band and a bluegrass jam is where we’ve landed.

We have a feeling this sound might find its people in the UK. Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala, Green Man, Bristol, London, Manchester… where else should we be looking?

From the dust of Nevada to the mud of Somerset. Who’s coming with us? by @dirtytexans

DJs are the new cowboys?

We are Dirty Texans, two brothers from Austin exploring the space between electronic music and traditional American sounds. House music, old-time, bluegrass, live guitar, synthesizers and improvisation, all finding their way into something distinctly our own.

This is our remix of the old-time classic “Cuckoo Bird,” played live on an art car at Burning Man. We build the tracks around the original recordings, then let the guitar and synth solos take them somewhere new with every performance. by @dirtytexans

Somewhere in far, far West Texas. Otherwise known as Joshua Tree, California.

This is “The Vision,” one of our Dirty Texans originals. Gritty house music, driving electronic beats, distorted textures and a screeching improvised synth solo.

We are Dirty Texans, two brothers from Austin making genre-bending electronic music somewhere between a DJ duo and a live band. House music, EDM, live guitar, synths and plenty of improvisation, with a little old-time and bluegrass finding its way into other corners of what we do. by @dirtytexans

Glastonbury? Boomtown? Sziget? Somewhere in the Netherlands? Where in Europe would this make sense?

We are Dirty Texans, two brothers from Austin making our own weird collision of bluegrass-inspired house music, old-time, EDM, drum & bass and live electronic music, with improvised guitar and synth solos changing things up every time we play.

This is our remix of the old-time classic “Sugar Baby,” played live at Burning Man. We build the tracks, then leave plenty of room for the improvisation to take them somewhere different every night.

Somewhere between a DJ duo, a live band and a bluegrass jam is where we’ve ended up.

We have a feeling there are some European festivals where this strange mix might feel right at home.

Which one are we missing? Tag them so we can find our people. by @dirtytexans

Turns out old songs can travel pretty far.

We are Dirty Texans, two brothers from Austin who’ve fallen deep into an old-time and bluegrass rabbit hole, remixing songs we love into house music and leaving plenty of room for live guitar, synth solos and improvisation.

This is our remix of Doc Watson’s “Country Blues,” played live at Burning Man. The track gives us somewhere to start, but the build, solos and transitions can take a different route every time.

Bluegrass-inspired house music, EDM, live electronic music and a little alternate-timeline weirdness.

If you know someone who belongs in this timeline, send accordingly. 🪕🪩🎛️ by @dirtytexans
