Seven weeks ago I thought surgery would be the finish line.

It turns out recovery is its own challenge.

There have been setbacks, tears, frustration, guilt, and more days in bed than I’d like to admit. But there have also been moments I never expected, new experiences, unexpected kindness, and reminders that progress isn’t always obvious when you’re living it.

I’m not where I hoped I’d be by now, but I’m further than I was.

One step at a time.

This is endometriosis.
When I say it’s a battle I’m not being dramatic. You never know when it will hit, how long the flare will last or understand what is happening inside your body.

This disease is misunderstood and debilitating for a lot of people. 1 in 9 women have it, it takes 9 years on average to be diagnosed and a lot of doctors will not help you explore the possibility of management for it.

You aren’t crazy, your pain is real and more people need to speak up about it so we can get the right help and education for this life long disease.

You are strong. Fuck Endometriosis 🤍
