Eighth gig of the year and WOW, WHAT A DOOZY!
It'd been such a long time since I went to a show where I already knew every band/musician playing.
And just like the old days, some of the best gigs I've ever been to, the line-up consisted of bands I'd seen before as openers.
I've seen Dillon Jo open for Foley.
I've seen Juna open for Lily Linscott.
And I've seen Emerson open for Dani Josie.
(Far out Wellington has some seriously talented musicians!)
This was just another one of those perfect crossovers, like a mini Laneway, and I had an absolute freaking blast!

All three acts were incredible! I had so much fun singing along.
I cannot wait to see where they all go next.
Congratulations Emerson on the success of your first headline tour. And massive props for putting out physical media! I have been jamming the CD on repeat!

My current busted phone situation is making gig recording + photo taking pretty tough, but I'm glad I got some great clips & pics.
Overall, one of the best gigs ever and I'll be riding that high for a while.

I was gutted about having to miss out on three other gigs in recent months due to sickness (Sorry Mothburn, Adult Friends, Testpot, Floyd Marsden & Danica Bryant) taken in San Fran by @dirvinator

Pancake Day 6.0
Sixth annual outing was a delight as always.
It was great to see so many new and returning faces from over the past five years.
The 'Ube Pancakes' were a unique treat.
As always, these excursions are one of the highlights of my year.

This time last week I was out in the pouring rain having the absolute time of my life while filming 'Back To Everly'. My second Massey University short film of the year.

I was only on set for the briefest of hours, but I was surrounded by students all soldering on in the typical Wellington weather. Some of them spending a full day in the rain.
The professionalism on display deserves to be commended.

I played the role of "Husband" 😆
I won't spoil my short scene, but wow I cannot wait to see it and to show it to you all.
It was an absolute pleasure working on this short film and I was sad when it was all over. But it felt so satisfying coz I knew everyone's hard work had paid off.

Recently I had the incredible privilege of working on 'Play For Me'. A Massey University short film.
After a decade away from my childhood dream, taking small steps to get back into acting has been so gratifying.
As soon as I stepped foot on set, I was filled with so much joy and immediately wondered why I ever stopped.

It was an honor working with @alexshiraz.nz Mr President. And the First Lady @ava.wizza. I loved being your Vice President.

I met so many wonderful, talented, hard-working people. Name's I'll no doubt forget, but faces and experiences I'll remember for a very long time.
My thanks go out to the entire cast and crew for allowing me to be a small part in this amazing production.

Seventh gig of the year.
(The day before my phone completely died, hence the delayed upload.)

It was a fundraiser gig raising money for the short film 'Paper Skin', which at the time of uploading, has just wrapped filming 😁

Elly Mae was beautifully ethereal.
Mudgoose brought the heavy rock with some dope keys.
And the Girls Factory DJ set was a great cap to the night. Even had the bartender busting a move up on the bar 😆

Fun night after one of the most miserable days of the year.

Sixth gig of the year was prerry cruisy.
Free gig as long as you're involved to vote 🤟🏻
Tahini Bikini put on an awesome show.
It was absolutely freezing outside, but the groovy tunes warmed the soul pretty quickly.

Fifth gig of the year was Lily Linscott's 'First & Last Headline Show'.
I first saw @lilylinscott last month when her and her band opened for @wearefoley, and was blown away by the vocals and talent.
I'm so glad I caught this show as it was like walking into the middle of a climatic encore of a Broadway show, with the whole crowd singing along supporting their friend.
Very reminiscent of some of the all time greatest kiwi bands I've seen over the years.
Oh, and @junabandofficial were an incredible opening act too!

5 Years In Wellington.

Five years ago today, me and two of my dearest friends packed up our bags and moved to the big city. Wellington, the nation's capital! (Not that international bands and artists would know).
We figured, "If we're gonna be poor, might as well be poor in a city we love".
So June 5th 2021, we took that step.

I've lost an awful lot in that time.
And lived through the worst and hardest days of my life so far.

But I'm still here.

And I've had alot of wonderful experiences in that time too.
I've met so many wonderful people. Seen so many awesome bands! Eaten such amazing food!

I'm on the right path. I cannot wait for the next chapter.
I'm so glad I'm still here.

To those who have come and gone from my life, I'll remember you.
I hope you remember me from time to time.
Thank you to everyone who has given me a reason to smile. by @dirvinator
