As some of you already know, I’ve decided to make a new alias ; @vetra_____ I would appreciate any and all support towards this new project. This new alias is another side to me, a darker more hypnotic side. You can expect dark harrowing kicks, eerie and hypnotic rhythms, with a touch of tribal influence. Thank you to everyone who came down to our last @plexustechno of the year, and everyone stuck around on Friday for my set. It was honestly exactly what I needed after the past few months.I just locked in and found my happy place. I’ve always doubt myself, so I’ve never tried, but I through myself in the deep and played 4 decks for the first time.With that being the last event of the year for PLEXUS, it leaves me with more time to focus on productions. I’ve got some new music coming in out over the next month or so on some really sick labels I’m proud to be a part of. 🧠So it wasn’t too long ago that I found out I’m autistic. For someone to go 35 years without knowing, but always feeling different, always wanting to fit in, and never really understanding why things felt harder than they seemed for others, it’s been a lot to process.Since getting that clarity, looking back at my life through a new lens has been both healing and overwhelming. A lot suddenly makes sense, but it also brings up challenges, especially in the world I’ve chosen to be in.Being an autistic DJ/Producer, while also working a full time job and running events on the side, can feel like trying to juggle 10 different lives at once. The love for the music and the community keeps me going, but sometimes the overstimulation, the social dynamics, and the constant pressure of balancing everything can be exhausting in ways that aren’t always visible to others.I know there are other neurodivergent artists out there who might have figured out little systems, boundaries, or tools that make life a bit smoother. So I wanted to open this up and ask:Do you have any tips, tricks, or advice for navigating the music industry (and life in general) as an autistic creative while balancing work and events?Would love to hear your experiences, whether you’re neurodivergent yourself or have supported someone who is. by @discarnatechno
