THESE ARE THE WOMEN OF ELLA SUEÑA.

For Hispanic heritage month, we wanted to celebrate the Latinas driving in Chicago’s music, art, fashion scene. Ella Suena, a Latina Music Showcase.

Ella Suena will feature a curated lineup of female DJs, live musicians, and a small marketplace of Latina-owned artists, makers and creators. (& an exclusive Don Julio tequila menu)

📍: @epiphanyarts201. Sunday 10/11, 4pm. 🔗 in bio.

Destiny Ron is a Latina, singer songwriter, born in Chicago, and raised in Waukegan, Illinois. Born to an immigrant, Mexican mother, and a Greek father, Destiny’s rich cultural background has had an impact on her musical journey. Her sound is a blend of diverse genres, including Regional Mexican, Spanish Indie, Pop, Greek, and Chicago house music. Destiny is on a mission to carve her own unique path in the world of music, blending all her inspirations to create something that feels true to her.

Named “local legend” by Metro Chicago, Chillona lives up to the title. Her Infectious songs match her stage presence and make for memorable performances. Based in Chicago, Chillona amplifies her Mexican heritage by making music in English and Spanish. With influences like Charli XCX, Kali Uchis and Rosalia, Chillona’s sound ranges from electro ballads to alternative reggaeton bangers. Her debut EP ‘GOTA’ unifies the two worlds of vulnerability and aggression. Constantly challenging the boundaries of genre, Chillona is redefining what it means to be a Latin Pop Diva.

Linda Sol is a Chicago rapper, poet, and storyteller whose work blends sharp lyricism, introspection, and emotional honesty. A product of Chicago’s spoken word and hip-hop communities, Linda Sol first found her voice through poetry before bringing that same depth, vulnerability, and precision to music. Her songs explore the complexities of identity, relationships, ambition, healing, and self-discovery, often sitting comfortably in the gray areas rather than offering easy answers. Known for her thoughtful pen and dynamic live performances, Linda Sol draws inspiration from both classic lyricism and contemporary sounds, creating work that is reflective, grounded, and deeply human. Her poetry has taken in Chicago, Illinois by @discjacqui

As our ’90s & Neon Fundraiser at Ignite Glass Studios approaches on October 1, we want to introduce you to your DJ for the night, a CAC alum who also has a special performance in store.

Disc Jacqui is the newest incarnation of Jacquelyn Carmen Guerrero, an interdisciplinary queer artist of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent originally from Hialeah, FL. Known as “CQQCHIFRUIT” since 2013, they are a DJ, musician, performance artist, and arts organizer.

After earning a BA in Communication from Northwestern University with concentrations in theater and dance in 2010, they emerged as a performance artist and learned to DJ in 2012 as part of collective Chances Dances. Their interdisciplinary practice evolved to explore themes of identity and heritage, natural and supernatural, ephemeral and ancient, expressed through music, installations, and dance performances provoking reflection and transformation. Since then they have participated in exhibition, residency, and performance programs at organizations including Chicago Artists Coalition, Roots & Culture, ACRE Projects, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Chicago Cultural Center, Hyde Park Art Center, MANA Contemporary, and Experimental Sound Studio.

In 2015 they partnered with Natalie Murillo (La Spacer) to co-create TRQPITECA, an artist duo and production company celebrating queer art and dance music through events and media. TRQPITECA has worked with the Chicago Park District, City of Chicago DCASE, Lumpen Radio, and venues across to Chicago to produce events featuring countless musicians, DJs, and visual artists. Jacqui ‘s work supporting other artists is also highlighted through their work as Senior Manager of Finance & Operations at Hyde Park Art Center.

Reserve your tickets at the link in our bio today! Early bird pricing through September 1.

Ranging from parties in nightclubs and art galleries to public festivals, TRQPITECA has been a platform for hundreds of artists, musicians, and DJs exploring the intersections between art, dance music, and identity. They bounce between tropical house and bass, hard techno & bass breaks, trippy acid & trance, high BPM jungle & juke in their DJ sets and live hardware performances, and you can catch their TRQPITECA.fm show live on Lumpen Radio every 1st & 3rd Monday from 4-6pm!
