A lil summer solstice cuddle puddle space for my friends that’s def coming with me to @shakorihillsgrassroots 🤩 Imagine crashing here with your friends after a long day of dancing and running around, listening to your fave chill playlist and drinking tea and snacking while you giggle with your favorite people til the wee hours of the night. Those are some of my favorite memories of this life🥰

A lot of the fabrics are scraps from my grandmother from her travels through Indonesia and Taiwan. I’ve been wondering what to do with them and I have found the perfect use for them🙌🏼

What would you add to this setup?

a year of ending and beginning, launching a life I never envisioned or thought I deserved. grateful for the people who stuck through the maddening darkness and the ones who entered unexpectedly, bringing in light I had forgotten existed. I don’t know what I am now, but I’m excited to meet her, whatever she is💕

Winter calls for looking back at all your photos and seeing which ones have gone neglected because damnnnn!! Worked a lil Lightroom magic with this beauty and she’s ready to shine. Makes me look forward to spring and summer creativity while enjoying the process of recognizing the work you have already created, especially when you get the privilege of photographing your sweet friend. #wnc #wncphotographer #asheville #ashevillephotographer #blueridgemountains taken in NC Arboretum by @disco.with.the.flow

Thank you so much @shakorihillsgrassroots for bringing together so many beautifully wild and loving people together to dance and create and connect with music, nature, and fellow humans. There is nothing quite like a festival that fills your cup with wholesome goodness and happy feet and full bellies and hearts.

Beyond ecstatic to have found my shakori pack this October, and I can’t wait to reunite and howl again in May💕

It’s been a year since our home was shaken to its core by Hurricane Helene. While we lost so much and so many, we survived and showed up in ways we couldn’t have imagined. We will continue to rebuild and recover, stronger than ever💕

If you would like to continue to support rebuilding efforts in WNC, please consider donating to BeLoved Asheville, as they continue to restore homes and hope to people across affected areas.

Venmo: Beloved-Asheville
Donation link in bio🤍

Also, tell your friends Asheville and WNC are open for visiting! Much of what makes this a travel hotspot is now open and abatible for exploring. Tourism allows our vital small business and communities to put food on the table and pay for rebuilding efforts.

We learned we are stronger together, that every person is capable of kindness and resilience they didn’t think possible. Thank you for standing alongside us. We are forever grateful for your radical love💕

Look for a flash of peacock feathers at @deep.tropics this weekend! I’ll have little biodegradable goodies for you to share some sustainable, tropical magic 🌴

This is my first festival since Hurricane Helene, and my 3rd year at Deep Tropics. This lil festival holds a special place in my heart as a boutique music and arts experience with sustainability and community in its mission. Since the hurricane, my passions have shifted towards caring for my community and Mother Earth over participating in travel/festivals. After years of nonstop raving, I had a huge perspective shift after witnessing so much devastation in my hometown and participating in relief efforts. I quickly learned that truly, it’s not how much cool stuff you have or how much fun you have partying at festivals that will get you through a crisis. It’s having a healthy, safe planet and being in loving, resilient community that is key to survive and thrive in this never ending flux of life. Deep Tropics is unique in curating both these values in a festival experience, and this feels like the perfect opportunity to step back into the circuit to have fun and heal again. May DT continue to develop this mission to its fullest capacity and inspire other events to do the same💕

This is last year’s edition of the Peacock, but we’re upgrading the look this year to have a lil more ✨sparkle✨ so you can’t miss it!

See you soon, Nashville🦚

after 2 years, I think I finally found a flow that feels like me, so here’s my first full flow post🥰

It’s really easy to get sucked up in the comparison game when you’re surrounded by people who are so so so talented, but I didn’t get into flow to be the best, I did it to play. I’ve never posted a full flow on here because it never felt me. It felt like a performance, a showcase of all the tricks I know, without the elements of my soul that make flow so special to me. I recently started flowing without music, and I listened to how my body responded to the weight and sound of the Flowstar itself. It all clicked then. I could sync my breath with the movement of the fabric, the movement of my body, and I felt united with my prop in a way I had never felt before. It felt like a new awakening in my flow journey. Now I feel genuine in my flow, and comfortable sharing this part of myself on here a bit more. So if you full stuck in your flow, maybe try it without music, or try a different kind of music than what you’re used to, or listen to a podcast or book that moves you. Idk. Do weird shit and discover what happens ✨

The hard part now is gonna be finding music to post that syncs with my music free flows 😂

2024 was a year of loss and goodbyes, learning that grief is proof of a capacity for love deeper than I thought I held. How lucky am I to have a heart big enough to hold such massive love for each of the people and places I’ve encountered this year, making the goodbyes that came ache so fiercely. Each sunrise and sunset brought tears to my eyes, knowing I would never experience beauty quite like that again, and the only proof I had of its existence was the memory of awe and wonder it created in my heart. No hug or kiss feels the same, so I cherished the warmth of the ones I love while they’re in my arms, before we let go to open ourselves up to new opportunities to love the world. After years of closing my heart to protect her, my heart finally broke open this year, never to be whole again. Now the love pours out, and love pours in. It hurts. It hurts so deeply to have a heart open to the world. But the beauty, love, richness, and abundance that came with the heartache of loving is worth every tear and stage of grief. It’s proof that I’m LIVING💕

To everyone I’ve studied with, worked with, danced with, cried with, explored with, and laughed with this year, I have a gratitude and love for you greater than you think possible. May you have every joy and kindness in this next year💕

When I was 7, Hurricane Katrina struck my hometown on the Gulf Coast and left us crumbles of once was a thriving southern community. The flooding, fallen trees, and ruined roads that Helene brought to my new home of Asheville was as devastating as the destruction I saw as a child. Now I see beyond what my little brain could process at the time: this disaster changes communities forever. Thousands of people’s lives stopped in their tracks. Nobody would be the same after. If we were lucky enough to survive, we still had parts of us destroyed with the floodwaters and wind.

Even through pain and suffering brought on by literal hell and high water, people are coming together to support each other and hold each other up during this horrific time. Neighbors are sharing water and clearing roads, strangers are working together to distribute survival supplies to communities cut off from main roads, and people of different backgrounds that previously divided them are offering each other access to internet, power, and other essential resources. It’s an incredible force of human kindness. The best of humanity has shown up, and it will single-handedly be what gets us through to the other side.

If you would like to support relief efforts in Asheville and surrounding areas, here are community groups that have made the biggest impact in restoring our communities both big and small in western North Carolina:

BeLoved Asheville- @belovedasheville
—- On the ground volunteers collecting and distributing a wide array of supplies to WNC.
—- Venmo: @beloved-asheville

Pansy Collective- @pansycollective
—- Mutual aid organization distributing supplies to victims of flooding
—- Venmo: @pansycollective

WNC Rural Organizing and Resilience (ROAR)
—- Mutual aid group gathering and distributing food, water, supplies, and information to WNC communities
—- PayPal: ruralorganizingandresilience@gmail.com

Asheville Survival Program- @avlsurvival
—- Mutual aid organization meeting district needs for survival and flood and storm repair

Please share to support our community! Stay PLURR💕
