Happy Tuesday everyone! 👋 We're hear to announce that the Kids' Zone will be back at Lake City Arts Fest this year! It certainly wouldn't be an arts fest without a place for the kids to get creative 🎨☺️There will be a Color It Market set up in the Kids' Zone where kids will have the opportunity to do their own "shopping" with their own Strand dollars to buy blank flowers, foods, and toys that they can then color and make their own! 🫟🤩 This year we'll have the Kids' Zone on the lawn of the Strand Center for the Arts and we are SO excited to see what all the little creatives get up to 🌹🧁🧸This activity is FREE for all to enjoy 🤗 aside from using the Strand dollars of course 😉 🗓️ Mark your calendars for Lake City Arts Fest on August 22nd from 11am-4pm! Unitary America is holding 2 MORE food giveaway's, on Wednesday, July 22nd, & Wednesday, July 29th from 4:00-6:30 p.m., at the Plattsburgh Public Library. Unitary America will give away fresh bread, pastries, and other bakery treats. Food will be distributed as supplies last. If you are in need of food, we encourage you to attend. In order to grow & flourish, we must weather the rainy days 🌱🌧️Yesterday, we had the pleasure of launching our Community Roots Garden with a kick-off event and dedication speeches from BHSN CEO Katherine Cook, NYS Assemblyman Michael Cashman @mscashman, and garden facilitator Jason Redmond.This 100% volunteer-run community garden, located at the Morrisonville Center for Well-Being, brings our staff, the individuals we serve, and other community partners together in the common goal to address food insecurity in our area.60% of the harvested produce will go to individuals served and community food shelves, such as @jceony. The remaining 40% goes to the volunteers who help our garden thrive!This garden is made possible by generous grants and sponsorships provided by partnering organizations. Thank you to @squarefootgardening and @myrunnings of Plattsburgh for being the first to help us bring this garden to fruition!BHSN is still accepting volunteers and sponsors.
