@wildflowerquilts is family owned, beautifully put together, full of color, creativity, detail, and the kind of craftsmanship that makes you slow down and actually look around. 🌸🧵

A pretty perfect October afternoon in the Bitterroot Valley. 🍂🌭☀️

We stopped by Ravalli Electric Co-Op today for their Kilowatts, Brats & Bytes Member Appreciation Day, and they put on a great event. Good food, beautiful weather, friendly people, and a chance to visit with neighbors and other members of the community. Ravalli Electric lists this as its annual member-appreciation event, and today definitely felt like one.

A big thank-you to the entire Ravalli Electric team for the hospitality and, even more importantly, for the work they do year-round serving our valley.

It was also great to see Grizzly Broadband and Fire in the Root taking part in the day. Grizzly Broadband and Ravalli Electric have worked together to expand high-speed internet service throughout the Bitterroot Valley, so having everyone together made this feel like a real celebration of the people and organizations that help keep our community connected.

Days like this are one of the things we love about the Bitterroot — neighbors talking with neighbors, local organizations showing up, a brat fresh off the grill, and weather that couldn’t have been ordered any better.

Thank you, Ravalli Electric Co-op, Grizzly Broadband, Fire in the Root, and everyone who helped make today such a fun afternoon.

Last night was another reminder of why the Bitterroot Valley never gets old.

The mountains change with the light. The clouds move through. The rivers, fields and open spaces seem to look a little different every single day.

Twenty-five years later, the memories of September 11 still carry a weight that is difficult to put into words.

It was a day of complete shock, disbelief, heartbreak and loss. In a matter of hours, countless lives were changed forever, and our country changed with them.

Today, we remember those who were lost, the families who carried unimaginable grief, the first responders who ran toward danger, and every person whose life was forever touched by that day.

We also remember something powerful that followed: Americans came together.

For a time, differences mattered less. Neighbors helped neighbors. Strangers became family. Flags appeared everywhere. There was a shared understanding that, despite the pain, we were one country.

Twenty-five years have passed, and America has learned a great deal. We still have work to do. But the lessons of courage, sacrifice, compassion, service and unity remain as important today as they were then.

May our thoughts and prayers remain with all those who lost someone, all those who served, and all those who still carry the memories of September 11.

We remember.

We honor.

And we never forget. 🇺🇸

Montana has a way of making “unbelievable” look completely normal.

The first image is a little creative fun. The second is the real view.

Same place. Same mountains. Same reservoir. Same incredible Bitterroot Valley.

And here’s the part that makes it even better — this view is only about an hour’s hike from the trailhead, following a dirt road into Fred Burr Canyon.

No elaborate expedition. No complicated route. Just put on a good pair of shoes, head uphill, and Montana does the rest.

That’s one of the things we love most about the Bitterroot. Some of the most spectacular places are sitting quietly just beyond town, waiting to be discovered.

There’s something about the Bitterroot Valley right now… 🍂

The mornings are cooler. The skies feel a little clearer. The light has that warm, golden late-summer glow — and for just a moment, it feels like fall might be quietly sneaking in.

Montana is beautiful, but days like this are a good reminder to take the heat seriously.

💧 Stay hydrated.
🧢 Take breaks in the shade.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.
🐶 Make sure your four-legged friends have plenty of fresh water and a cool place to rest.
❤️ And if you have a few minutes today, check in on a friend, neighbor, or family member. A simple call or visit can go a long way.

🏆 2026 North American Wildlife League – Year-to-Date Standings 🏆

The scoreboard is filling up… and unfortunately, nobody wants to be on the losing team.

Every year people get a little too close for a selfie, a better photo, or because they think a wild animal “looks friendly.” North America’s wildlife has a different opinion.

🐻 Bears: 4
🦬 Bison: 2
🫎 Moose: 0
🦌 Elk: 0
🐏 Bighorn Sheep: 0

If these numbers change, we’ll update the standings. Hopefully they don’t.

The photos and videos are incredible… but they’re even better when they’re taken with a zoom lens instead of an ambulance ride.

Remember:
✅ Give wildlife plenty of space.
✅ Never approach for a photo.
✅ Respect the animal’s home.
✅ The best wildlife encounter is the one where everyone walks away safely.

Nature doesn’t care how many followers you have.

Respect wildlife. Stay alert. Stay alive.
