Type 8 of 8: inherited ancestral trauma.

This is different from absorbing a mother's emotions during pregnancy. Inherited trauma is passed from parent to child at the moment of conception. In my experience, that's why it often takes more time and effort to release. The energy runs that much deeper.

Researchers have also found changes in how stress-related genes work in the children of trauma survivors.

Type 7 of 8: the heart wall.

Layer by layer, trapped emotion by trapped emotion, the subconscious mind builds a wall of energy around the heart to protect it from further hurt. Many of us notice it as we get older. We feel a little more guarded and a little more numb.

Emotional numbing is a well-documented response to repeated emotional hurt, and it isn't selective. When we dampen the pain, we tend to dampen love and joy along with it.

In my experience, most people have a heart wall. The full video walks through all eight types of trauma.
