unintentionally ended up with the most san francisco wedding ever 🌁🤍💍🕊️

when JD and i first started planning our wedding, we agreed that the location of it was going to be the most important factor. his mom lives in south africa, my dad lives in taiwan, and my aunt and cousin live in italy. and this was all before factoring in friends who live across the pond and in other states.

we already knew we’d be making a big ask since everyone would have to get on a plane no matter what. so we thought, welp. why not have them come see our city in the meantime?

and let’s be honest - we weren’t about to get married without @discoverthebagel so staying local just made sense 🥯

i’ll never forget the first time i walked into @thefrancishouse a couple years ago in the heat of harvest season. we waltzed in slightly tipsy (and starving), and within minutes it felt less like checking into a hotel and more like showing up at a family member’s house after being apart for too long.

@thefrancishouse is still one of my favorite hotels in all of wine country. tucked away in calistoga at the northern tip of napa valley, the place has REAL history, and stepping inside truly feels like wandering into a french château that somehow ended up in the middle of california.

every detail here is gorgeous: the chantilly lace curtains, the striped linen @matouk bathrobes, the mineral-heated pool, the beautiful citrus trees, and freshly prepared breakfast each morning.

what’s rarer than the design, though, is how much @thefrancishouse actually cares about its guests. hospitality and beauty get equal attention here, and that combination is so hard to find these days.

i wrote a full blog post about this place a couple years back, and my opinion hasn’t changed. @thefrancishouse is hands-down my favorite boutique luxury hotel in napa valley. and i hope it becomes yours too during your next trip to wine country 📌

the perfect luxury escape @fsnapavalley - complete with vineyard views, relaxing spa days, world class dining, cocktails by the pool, and slow mornings with coffee and fresh pastries overlooking all of california wine country ☕️🍇☀️

this specific property has been at the top of my #napavalley hotel list for years, so finally staying here felt like a DREAM ☁️

we spent one night in a spacious vineyard mountain room and loved every moment of it from the farmhouse-chic design to the large soaking tub and balcony views overlooking kenefick ranch and the palisades mountains.

between the mini fridge stocked with local wine and snacks, the insanely beautiful pool, and michelin-starred @auronapavalley and @trussnapavalley right onsite, it was dangerously easy to spend the whole trip without leaving the property.

and spoiler alert: we didn’t

so if a weekend visit to calistoga in napa valley is on your list this season, make sure to book a stay at @fsnapavalley - it’s easily one of the most beautiful properties in wine country 🍷

for me, a hotel isn’t just a place to sleep.

i’m always chasing places that feel intentional — where you can tell someone spent months (or years) obsessing over the lighting, the textures, the colors, and how the rooms and lobby are supposed to feel when you walk in.
