Over the past year or so we became less interested in making everything perfect.

If something moved us, it stayed. A rough recording, a machine doing something unexpected, a moment we knew we’d never quite capture the same way again.

We didn’t set out to make an album. We just kept making music, following whatever felt right and leaving things alone when they felt honest.

Slowly, something started revealing itself.

We looked at what we had and realised these records had been growing together without us really noticing.

It feels like home.
It feels like somewhere we haven’t been before.

GROW.

It was lovely to receive a Disfreq remix just out of nowhere a year or two ago. It sounds so good playing it out! And now their festival mix too - Thank you Disfreq!

Raindrops seems to have become one of the classic jaxx tracks, it’s great to have contemporary versions.

From Disfreq:
We grew up listening to Basement Jaxx. We had the Scars CD when we were younger and absolutely rinsed it.
So it’s pretty mad to think that all these years later, the two of us are sitting back home in Donegal working on a Basement Jaxx record ourselves.

When we got the chance to remix Raindrops it was a no brainer. We’ve always loved the original and just wanted to do something with it that felt like us, without losing what made the record so good in the first place.

Never would’ve thought when we were younger listening to that CD that one day we’d see Basement Jaxx and Disfreq on the same release.

Funny how things work out.

A proper full circle one for us.

Which ones your fav from the slides????

(still here) here’s a note from the journal tho!! We have got a lot of music in the tank at the moment and a lot of unreleased music (being scheduled), been asked “why the change” quiet a lot recently and in a positive light which is class for us after banging our heads together for the past year 🥲 it’s unreal seeing the new stuff being so well received by all, making tonnes of club stuff at the moment as well which is in our opinion of course “OUR BEST YET” let’s see, still enjoying all the different realms of sonics and will keep doing so , peace. Wowww this is unreal.
When we took a step back to find our feet again with music we loved it was definitely a bit scary, but we believed in what we were doing.
We basically just went back to making music that gave us goosebumps on the first play, which is the way it should be really.
We stopped thinking about everything else and just focused on that.
It’s mad seeing it connect with other people in the same way.
Thanks so much to everyone who has stuck by us through the journey and this change, it genuinely means a lot.
And a massive shoutout to Jenny, Pete and Danny for the support ❤️ by @disfreq

A genre-blending record that means a lot to us.

I think we made about 12 different versions of this one and we’re so glad its arrived to where it’s at. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.

This one nearly stayed on the hard drive 😅

Countless versions, late nights, second guesses and the odd existential crisis later, here we are now

we stopped asking where it fits and started asking, Does it make us feel something?

This track means a lot to us.

It’s raw, it’s alive and it feels like freedom

Cant waitttt to share it with you.

It’s been some time now…

We’ve spent the past while back in the studio, pulling sounds apart, experimenting with new synths, textures and little bits of noise, chasing something that felt closer to home.

Somewhere through the creative process we crossed paths with Jack, @somedeadbeat, a poet and writer from Derry, and what started as making a track naturally turned into a friendship.

This one came from a place of gut feeling and instinct, from blocking out the outside noise, having trust and letting the sound lead the way.

We are releasing this one on Friday, and to say we can’t wait to start releasing music again is an understatement ❤️

Thanks for being patient.
