I’ve been having a couple harder weeks lately and making the jump from masters to a PhD is definitely
HUGE and very demanding. but here’s a reminder that’s changing and growing is demanding and it’s meant to be uncomfortable. You aren’t falling behind.
You are on the right path, keep going!💌🐞🌟 by @dishagetsaphd

Happy Monday!!!

here is my first “official” week of my PhD !! a lot of lows this week but it’s just the start and I guess change and growing is meant to be uncomfortable. I think the discomfort I’m feeling is the jump between UG/PGT where there’s always a make scheme , a rubric, grades to now any feedback or work being like … well this is your career and this is going to held to the industry standard. Like all I’m thinking is contribution, publications and skills. But I’m sure I will settle in over time and get better, besides a PhD is all about growing and learning these things anyways!

I hope everyone has a good weeek this week!!!

I’m so grateful to graduate with a distinction (first) !!! 🌟

Some flash backs to my masters from last August to this October. Truly a WILD WILD journey. by @dishagetsaphd

another asmr study with me <333 started with my morning stack and a new library book!! I really love filming and editing these! today was a STRUGGLE but we made it through and I made progress so that’s all that matters :)

I hope you have an amazing day!!

🌟 decided to make a little guide on how to go about writing a PhD proposal. my credentials on giving this advice is that I was very very lucky to get two PhD offers this year, one for my own student-led project and one for a supervisor-led project at a diff uni. So I would like to think that I know how to write a proposal good enough to appeal to funders and supervisors.

this is ofc very basic advice, if anyone needs more advice or someone to help guide them or read over work I am very very happy to help. Feel free to comment questions or DM me anything at all!!!

I hope this is useful <3

I got to the library at about 7:30, and worked till 3pm. I took an hours lunch break with my friend Mel 💞 where we did so many laps around the library and yapped. I managed to write 2/4 proposals this day and ended on around 2000 words for the day!!! Super productive day but it’s usually never this productive daily. Because balance ✨✨

Hope you like this style of video, might keep doing them they are sooo satisfying !!!

Also I can now access our polsci PGR hub and it’s so niceeee might film some “study with me” clips there too!!! by @dishagetsaphd

had such a productive day yesterday (worked 7:30am-3pm in the library ,with an hours break for lunch)!!!!i did hit a wall though with one of my proposals and felt like i had to redo the entire idea, which I did. now i am super super happy with how it’s turning out. Feel so guilty like i could have done more all week but it’s okkkk, I had a good friday that’s all I can ask for.

I hope you have a good weekend <33 by @dishagetsaphd

finished my masters, went on a camp and started my PhD! 🏕️📚

welcome to my corner of studygram <33 I’m so happy you have stumbled onto my lil account. this is going to be a digital log of my PhD journey for the next couple of years so please tag along with me !!

my program doesn’t officially start till next week but I started a week early and I am currently working on 4 mini proposals for my supervisors. My PhD is not following the traditional thesis style submission. Instead, I will be doing a three-paper design which will still be submitted as one whole thesis but with three different papers (if that makes sense, still not quiet sure how it works actually).

anyways, here are some pictures that sum up my past couple weeks. I bought myself a new desk and chair, went for a post-masters dissertation submission camp and hike, lots and lots of colouring with my friends. And to now, a crap tonne of reading to be getting on with.

I am still to graduate for my masters, but that’s coming up soon in November!!! I have so many inductions, meetings and PhD what nots coming up too so I’m very excited to document my journey (incase there’s anyone out there whose interested but mostly just for myself to look back on)

thank you sooo much for reading this, I hope you stick around 💌✨
