A scene from last fall... Where is the PAW AND ORDER?! Crime in the Atlanta is the worst! THIEVERY! MISSING: TREAT STATION. We have the nicest folks over in Ormewood Park, by Red's Farm, who put out a treat station... but someone took the it! First-the entire pup station; they replace it, then someone takes the lid of the new one?! Lawrd, Karma, she a' comin'!

One of Wanda's favorite things to do is, walk through the village and see her people. Ms Vikki, being, her most favorite peoples. We used to walk by a few times a week, but now we stroller by, and are graced by the sweet, generous, doting, healing hands of, Vikki The Treat Dealer. Note the drool? And now Ms Amanda and Tilly know her, too. #ridgebacklove #guardianangels #treatdealer #healinghands #palliativepetcare

But giving into the nighttime
Ain't no cure for the pain
You gotta wade into the water
You gotta learn to live again
And reach out for her healing hands

There's a light where the darkness ends
Touch me now and let me see again

It's a wild ride, this time of life. We're doing the 35lb bag. Do we even have 40 days? Dunno. But we do know, Wanda would be equal to finishing it all if given the chance! #optimist #piggyeater #costcodogfood #fuckingfuckcancer by @dishcalledwanda

I've always thought Wanda was like a canine incarnation of, the great #MinniePearl... one can never have enough hats! We wouldn't sit on a patio on this of all days; so this is how we do, at home... late in the day, receiving our visitors, just before our evening meds. We still don our fiesta best for Cinco de Mayo and get spoiled with lots of chips and cheese. Thanks to Aunt Lori for getting mama out and taking the best pictures. #ridgebacklove #yellowribbons #regalrhonda #suavemente by @dishcalledwanda

Just before Easter weekend, we went in to see about a very sudden limp, and to ask about taking care of our bum lump. You know-the funny one that looks like a testicle? The checkup went really well, the limp was looking like garden variety, old lady, big-dog arthritis, until we got the x-rays back. And when those took a while, I knew it wasn't good.

Sweet Wanda has bone cancer--osteosarcoma, to be exact, and the outlook is grim. So if you see Wanda or me moving really slowly, or one of us limping, or suddenly bursting into tears, or being indulged with every treat stop there is, that's why.

I'll say more about it later, but for now--keep us in your prayers, and please get in touch if you've been through this before. This is her just before the appointment, less any meds. Age 11, right proximal humerus.
