Have you ever designed an image to go on a ceramic plate? Now’s your chance. Pics on plates can be decorative, representational, commemorative, tasteful, and ugly. We’ve been in contact with this sort of stuff all our lives. We use plates, we own them, we keep them, we cherish them, we brake them, we replace them. Brief: If you were to design a plate that documents WHERE YOU ARE NOW what would it have to look like? The theme for this design brief is “I AM HERE” Interpret it how you like, how you need to in order to communicate what you have to say. Format: Please make your design round. You can use colour, text, typography, photographic images, drawings, painting etc. The judges want to be surprised and challenged by your entries. If we knew what we wanted to see we wouldn’t be asking. Prize: All entries will be judged and “several” will be selected as additions to the Shoreditch Dinner Service to be exhibited at London Design Festival 2026. If your design is selected it will be turned into two actual plates. One to be kept as part of the dinner service. You get to keep the other one. There will also be a cash prize of £200 for the overall winner.
