“It’s the story of the origin of love”

It’s difficult to come up with a caption that perfectly encapsulates what meeting one of my heroes, John Cameron Mitchell means without it coming off as over dramatic or cheesy. I do truly believe Hedwig came into my life when I needed her the most, and she continues to do so periodically. They say a pictures worth a thousand words, so I’ll let these captured memories do the hard work.

Art, cinema, and queerness are all essential parts of my own personal story, and I’ve been so fortunate to come to terms with so many aspects of what makes me me because of it.

How lucky that this slip of a girly boy has gotten to experience the magic of the internationally ignored song stylist again and again in so many different iterations and with so many people I love too.

So thank you John Cameron Mitchell, and danke Hedwig! 🖤✨🤘🏽
