Origins isn’t just a title, it’s a little time capsule cracked open by someone who actually lived it. Liquid Giraffe came through with a guest mix built from the tracks he hunted down back in the early 2010s, when finding enough jungle and drum and bass for a full set meant hitting every back alley of the internet like it owed you money.

These are the tunes that set the course for his musical adventure. Stuff he had to fight to find, long before playlists spoon-fed people taste. It’s a snapshot of what he imagined the genre could be, and the blueprint for the Liquid Giraffe sound that followed. A rare rewind, stitched together by a friend who’s been putting in the work since day zero.

Disrupt FM is on a break this week, but in preparation for the @casa_sucia anniversary going down this weekend, the Renegade Masters return with an equally compelling sequel. Recorded directly after DSRPT005, @manifolds_ × @streiks step into the booth and push the throttle. This is a drum and bass forward session that moves like a film: sharp cold opens, long tracking shots, and a finale that won’t let the credits roll.

Episode 004 was pulled from the vault and then routed to a secure desk for Form 22-B, confirming “recorded in 2022” in triplicate. it went to the Department of Redundant Approvals, received three identical stamps, and was logged in two separate ledgers that disagree about page numbers. the file name was updated from final.wav to final_final.wav to FINAL_2022_MASTER.wav, per policy. After which it was renamed “I don’t wanna stand up anymore”, it was uploaded, checksumed, downloaded for verification, and carried down a hallway that returns to the same door. next came the radius-clause review, a noise-complaint check, and a quick legal scan for sample clearance. scheduling moved twice to satisfy a calendar memo. a platform audit flagged a temporary “review pending,” which was cleared after paperwork and a supervisor note. the mix was then QC’d, re-QC’d, level-matched, and archived again so it could be un-archived correctly. the committee on committees met and agreed the earlier committee had, in fact, met. result: a loud, honest snapshot from 2022 — plenty of surface-level DNB with a few buried gems. not the current blueprint, but it hits. press play and mind the dust. by @disrupt.fm

Business Casual lives in the space where tempos don’t belong but still find each other. Heavy bass climbs, the kick drum pulses, and everything locks into a crooked blend that should never have been mixed together.
