"Mississippi’s education success story is prominently featured in a new book sharing how governors, mayors, legislators, and other leaders of both political parties are implementing effective solutions to some of America’s toughest challenges.

A chapter by Governor Tate Reeves and Dr. Carey Wright, the former Mississippi Superintendent of Education, centers on the 'Mississippi Miracle' and how the state achieved its nationally celebrated education gains.

'While our nation-leading education gains are often called the Mississippi Miracle, it really wasn’t inexplicable at all,' wrote Reeves. 'It was the result of a deliberate and intentional effort to get Mississippi off the bad lists and onto the good lists in education through effective public policy reforms and implementation. It started more than a decade ago and the results have been worth it.'"

“As I started digging into this book, I felt this sense of, ‘OK, our political system is not poisoned beyond repair. There are still thinkers and policymakers out there who are trying to do the right thing.’"

In its first week, The Adaptability Quotient by Alec Litowitz has garnered great press and conversations in the outlets below as well as podcasts, blogs, and Substacks of all stripes.

We particularly liked this quote from Alec's interview in MarketWatch:

“Separate your identity from being right. Make your identity being adaptive. Being right only works for short periods of time.”

"In 'The Adaptability Quotient,' his book coming out this month, Litowitz argues that much of the knowledge people acquire in college has been commoditized by AI, or will be. He says your time and money are best spent on studies that force you to think critically and understand people because those abilities can help you adapt to change."

The Wall Street Journal spoke to The Adaptability Quotient author Alec Litowitz about the skills workers will need in the post-AI workplace.

"With the @bushfoundation's backing, Reedy — who has taught philanthropy at the University of Minnesota — wrote a handbook that she hopes will become required reading for anyone new to nonprofit work. What she didn’t anticipate is the positive reaction she’s receiving from business execs.

Credit to Reedy — “Please Be Good at Philanthropy” does not read like a foundation grant. It’s lively and engaging and pushes you to think about purpose and problem-solving in practical, yet empathetic terms."

📙 The Minnesota @startribune wrote about Jen Ford Reedy's Please Be Good at Philanthropy—an inspirational leadership book and a "service to the field" of philanthropy. by @disruptionbooks
