DD CON 2026 wasn't a conference you sat through. Most doctors think leaving the ward means leaving medicine. A former hospital CEO says it was only the start.

Dr Timothy Low is a medical doctor who moved from the public sector into general practice, pharma, clinical research, medical devices and biotech, then became head of healthcare investment at Pavilion Capital (part of Temasek) and CEO of Gleneagles Hospital and Farrer Park Hospital in Singapore.

Today he is building agentic AI robots for hospitals at QuikBot Technologies. He sits down with Dr Selina Chew in Postcall: Beyond the White Coat to share the career story most doctors never hear: what it felt like to step into a hospital with about 800 staff and 1,000 specialists, some of them his own former teachers; how the "fish philosophy" and "Whale Done" rebuilt a demoralised culture; the hardest decision he ever made as a CEO; why he is bringing an Asian-sized artificial heart implant to heart failure patients in Indonesia; and what he learned from the people who told him he was "no more a doctor".

Will AI replace doctors? Dr. Melvin Speisman's answer is unambiguous: No. AI is a tool like the stethoscope. It will make the care of patients better — not make the doctor obsolete.

But that framing only holds if doctors learn how to use the tool. A cardiologist who ignores AI isn't safer — they're at a disadvantage. Are you using AI to enhance care or ignoring it to stay comfortable?

Most cancer survivors are told to rest and be grateful they're alive. This doctor built a career on proving survival is only the starting line.

Dr Aiesha Asmadi is a medical fitness doctor with a background in sports medicine, a certified exercise prescriber, a two-time breast cancer survivor and a competitive bodybuilder who placed second on the world stage at NABBA Universe in England.

She sits down with Dr Selina Chew in Postcall: Beyond the White Coat to share what medicine looks like from the other side of the bed — finding her first lump as a second-year medical student at 21, the oncologist who laughed when she asked about freezing her eggs, the radiologist who told her off the record that her breast tissue was a "time bomb", the full-blown PTSD that hit after she had to break a stage four diagnosis to a 20-year-old patient, and why she left the system to prescribe exercise like medicine.

Grateful to have shared the stage at @DDCON 2026 in Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾

I trained as a clinician, but I've always been drawn to work that can reach beyond one patient at a time. For me, that path has been through technology. I've spent more than a decade building healthcare IT and hospital systems.

Today I find myself developing #Ai across the markets I serve, working to make sure clinical safety and digital innovation move forward together.
