Hello and welcome to my page! Reading has always been a love of mine, so it easily became the perfect way to escape the chaos that life often brings about. Sometimes, however, I have a difficult time leaving the fictional worlds behind and rejoining reality, which is how @dissonant_reality was born 🎉 Creating my own account for all things bookish was never on my bingo card, until recently, and I’m very much out of my comfort zone 😅 I’m not the most tech savvy, and I probably won’t know what I’m doing half of the time, but I think it will be fun, and you all will get to witness me learning how to Instagram in real time. I’m wanting this to be a safe space to discuss books, characters, and who knows what else while we encounter and process the dissonance in our own lives. So thank you for accompanying me on this new journey navigating the internet and my continually growing TBR 📚 by @dissonant_reality

Starside by @alexaster ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I could not put this book down! And when I did begrudgingly have to, I couldn’t stop thinking about it! In fact, I’m still thinking about it and what might happen in book two, Stormside. This is a slow burn, enemies to lovers epic fantasy with trial-like challenges and a deadly quest that hits the ground running in chapter one. I loved the world, the monsters and the characters, plus the sword hierarchy and magic felt refreshing. And that ending… I had to stare at a wall for a while once I finished the book. I may have messed up by reading Starside now because I thought Stormside comes out in September. Oops, it comes out mid-November 😅 So I will have to wait much longer than I originally thought I would. Until then, I’ll be preoccupied thinking about this story and all the what ifs, but I have a feeling Stormside will be an emotional rollercoaster regardless of what happens. If you like action, tension, tragic backstories, a bit of mystery and multiple morally grey characters, Starside is the book for you! Also, can we talk about the MMC!? He has entered the conversation for one of my favourite book boyfriends. I may have a type, and a problem… by @dissonant_reality
