I’ve unfortunately spent more time working with influencers than I would like to admit. But as VP of marketing it was apart of my job that ownership wanted me to specifically handle. (A topic for another time)

So I do know it can work. There are just a lot of terrible examples out at the minute of it being done poorly. NFL in Melbourne and the @usopen should be doing better.

The art direction of @acg is still on your favorite running brands moodboard today.

20-30 years later, it still stands out.

Is it Nikes best sub brand?

I understand the narrative of wanting to move on from ALD. I’ve tried. I just can’t bring myself to do it.

Price hikes, quality slipping, the subreddit’s had enough. I get it.
But the brand was never really about the clothes.

Been getting this question for years, so figured it was time to actually answer it properly.

The name isn’t as deep as people assume. No hidden meaning, no clever branding exercise. Just a reference from a film I grew up watching, one that passed most people by.

This started as a 90s inspired streetwear label. So the name had to come from the era that inspired the project.

MOODBOARD MONDAY #67
For me, fashion brands help me define what to expect from a city. This week, that means London.

Twelve brands that talk in a way that’s unmistakably this city, whether that’s rave culture, post-war British class, or a brands that do simple, extremely well.

A lesson for brand founders on storytelling.

@manresa.mike should be your point of reference. Big fan of what he’s doing.
I’ll never compare @manresamfg to @uniqlo, because of what he does.

In 2022, @gabrielomoses tweeted “not resting until I shoot the FIFA cover.”
This week, the @easportsfc cover was released, and Gabriel Moses shot Mbappé for it.

Gabriel Moses is the blueprint for the next wave of creatives. Self taught and discovered via YouTube at 18. His love of South London and his Nigerian heritage has shaped how he tells stories. He’s figured it out along the way, never letting an opportunity be too big for him.

After catching the eye of Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton, there is truly nobody more important at the intersection of fashion and sport right now.

Now 10 years into his ‘professional’ career and still only 28, the brands he’s worked with reads like a Hall of Fame career speech: adidas, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Travis Scott, Burberry, Apple, Off-White, just to name a few. His eye is incredible and his style is extremely recognisable, nearly impossible to replicate at his level.

From his iconic tweets to his hard work.
This is an appreciation post, and to celebrate “Real back in style.” taken in South London by @district5ive

I often find myself asking the real important questions in life.
Like: if your country was a brand, what would it be?

Every national team is a brand. Decades of behaviour built it, not a marketing department. You can’t rebrand your way out of 66 years of trauma.

Swipe through. Tell me which one’s most accurate.

My first pair of signature sneakers (that I can remember) were the Reebok Emmitt Smith trainers back in about 1996. Since then I’ve worn Grant Hills, Iversons, Lebrons, Jordans and plenty more. So I know signature sneakers, and I know why people actually buy into them.

As great as Harry Kane is, nobody wants to buy his boots to be like him.
