Today my good friend Mike Rudolf passed away. He was like a brother to me, one of my oldest friends. So many good memories hiking, shooting, building camp fires and making coffee. His fry bread was award winning, and he was an amazing cook in general. He was always generous and would come to my house and help me make Romanian cheese pockets that I would store in the freezer and eat for months. He gave me my gt performer when I was very young. One of the last gifts he gave me was this metal camping cup. His strength and will to live was unmatched. He survived on dialysis for well over 20 years and had a couple other issues over the years that he survived. I know I have some pictures of us together somewhere but wasn’t able to find them. One day we will meet again by @ditpicks

I have had this performer since I was a little kid. I got it in the 90’s when it was an old bike and pretty much worthless. It never had the original parts, and I rode it a lot. I attempted my first grind with it and the hollow axle on the race lace hubs sheared instantly. The dropout folded like the paper it was modeled after. At one point it cracked on one of the dropouts and my dad had the local muffler shop add welds to the inside where the dropout connected to the stays. I sold it in highschool but fortunately was able to get it back a few years ago. #bmx #gtperformer #gtbikes #gtbmx #oldschool by @ditpicks

When I was in high school my parents moved from the city to what seemed like the middle of nowhere in the country. I was unhappy to say the least, due to the loss of a close social circle. One bright spot was the acquisition of direct tv which had genre based music channels. I kept it mostly on the house/electronic channel and one day they played the @gabrielndresden “Bloom” mix. I recorded it onto tapes and played them non stop while I skateboarded in the garage. When my birthday came around my mom gave me a receipt from boarders books for a pre-order of the “Bloom” album on cd. It came a few months later and i listened to it on my 70’s Sansui speakers through a 70’s onkyo receiver.the sound quality of the cd was so far superior to the recorded tapes I had. To this day it is still my favorite album. For some reason it just sounds best to me on my dads old Sansui speakers. by @ditpicks
