Part 2 of tribe 1
Tigrinya

Tigrinya is the biggest tribe in Eritrean. By wearing traditional clothing zuria. Traditional clothing serves as a visual representation of Tigrinya cultural identity. By wearing traditional garments, individuals proudly showcase their heritage and belonging to the Tigrinya community. Traditional clothing is an expression of cultural pride and unity, strengthening the sense of identity among Tigrinya people.

The Zuria is a long, white, cotton garment worn by both men and women. It is typically made from handwoven fabric and features intricate embroidery along the edges. The Zuria is draped over the body, covering the shoulders, torso, and legs. It is often worn on special occasions, such as weddings, religious ceremonies, and cultural festivals.
Each element of traditional Tigrinya clothing carries symbolic meaning. The choice of fabric, color, pattern, and embroidery reflects cultural values, beliefs, and social status.

Coffee is also a big part of our culture. Coffee is a traditional brew in most ethnic groups of Eritrea, each of which possesses variety of ways in preparing the coffee ceremony. The Tigrinya culture coffee is prepared as a gesture of warm hospitality especially for guests who come a long way. However, drinking coffee in Eritrea is not just about pouring a concentrated coffee beverage into a sort of chinaware is used for that purpose.

By wearing our traditional clothing and representing our culture and tribe, we give respect and honor to our ancestors.
