DIVA NIGHT - Look 6

The final look represents the most radical form of presence. The Diva is no longer a role, but a state of being visible, controlled, and free at the same time. Night amplifies this intensity, turning fashion into a language of the body between past and present.

DIVA NIGHT - Look 5

This look plays with texture and exaggeration. Referencing historical silhouettes and the idea of clothing as “armor,” it creates a strong visual stance. Between protection and display, it reveals fashion as a space of tension, where restriction becomes expression.

DIVA NIGHT – LOOK 4

As night falls, the energy shifts. This look is inspired by the Diva as a self-determined figure, where comfort and well-being become acts of confidence rather than compromise. Embroidery, rooted in the history of women’s work, becomes a visible gesture of care, craftsmanship, and resilience. Balancing softness with quiet strength, the look reveals femininity as both personal and powerful.

DIVA DAY – LOOK 3

This design explores the crinoline as a historical garment and reinterprets its iconic structure in a contemporary context. While the original silhouette is largely preserved, the design reflects on the ongoing shaping and constriction of the female body through modern beauty standards. The crinoline is inverted, creating a sense of openness and freedom, while still carrying the heaviness of that control. The body remains visible, yet is no longer defined solely by restriction. In this way, a historical symbol of control is transformed into an expression of autonomy and liberation.

DIVA DAY – LOOK 2

This look explores asymmetry and modern draping as a contemporary interpretation of historical body construction. In connection to my research on the “DIVA” and the shaping of the female body through fashion, the sculptural silhouette balances structure and fluidity. Rather than restricting the body, the garment allows movement and individuality, transforming historical ideas of control into a form of confident self-expression.

DIVA DAY – LOOK 1

This look opens the series by exploring presence in everyday daylight. In connection to my research on the “Diva” and the historical shaping of the female body through fashion, it reflects a quiet form of self-determination. Clothing becomes not restriction, but intention, a balance between naturalness and self-staging.

At the F+F Schule für Kunst und Design, fashion isn’t polished—it’s joyfully taken apart, reassembled, and sent back onto the runway as a bold, slightly unruly conversation with identity, body, and zeitgeist.

With “Women of Glass”, Annika Javet creates surreal, immersive visual worlds in which fashion contributes to the expansion of reality through escapism, enchantment, and female perspectives.

In “Sehnsucht nach Heimat “ (Longing for Home), Maryam El Dabboussi explores issues of origin and belonging beyond geographical boundaries, translating experiences of migration into textile vessels of memory in which the body itself becomes a fragile, emotionally charged home.

With “manifest 5: perturbationes”, Daniel Frank translates personal and generational fears into a visual language that oscillates between tension and vulnerability, where inscribed memories and postures become a formative force.

With “Diva”, Arwen Aylin Andenmatten explores the ambivalent figure of the diva, caught between iconization and devaluation, and translates historical silhouettes such as the corset into a collection about the body, identity, and quiet empowerment.

With “Raw Perspectives”, Patricia Crivelli combines childlike creativity, art, and upcycling into a playful collection that celebrates an unbridled imagination beyond social conventions through expressive draping and humorous stylistic breaks.

In “SWEEP: BEING UNSEEN IS THE NEW BLACK”, Kathy Jeilyn Matos explores visibility, identity, and resistance, using minimalist, experimental looks that blend workwear and deconstruction to reflect on the sense of belonging, exclusion, and self-determination of Black people in a multicultural society.

With “Shadows of forgotten ancestors”, Ganna Starykh translates Ukrainian mythology, traditional clothing, and spiritual symbolism into an imaginative collection about transformation, protection, and cultural identity

With “OUT$IDE PARADEPLATZ”, Juan Adami translates the street style codes surrounding Zurich’s Paradeplatz into a collection where urban belonging, economy, and everyday silhouettes meet luxury materials.
