I pedaled that bike through the entire zoo by myself 😂🚲

Meanwhile, she spent the day taking pictures of every animal she wanted to remember.

Watching the world through her perspective is one of my favorite things. So I’ll take the sore legs any day to have these moments 🫶🏻

Since I was a little girl, I thought the magic was Disney. Watching it through her eyes reminded me that the magic was never just the place.

It was the laughter
The wonder.
The excitement over the little things.
The feeling of being completely present.

I spend a lot of time talking about wellness, and this reminded me of something important:
Wellness isn’t just about how we nourish our bodies.
It’s also about how we nourish our lives.
The moments that make us laugh.
The people we love.
The memories we make.
The joy we choose to be present for.

Well... that was humbling 🥵

The heat and humidity were brutal and for the first time since I started training, I had to stop and walk.

I wanted to quit more than once, but my husband kept pushing me and I crossed the finish line anyway.

Not the result I was hoping for, but still proud to have finished my first race & 10k with @orodri9 by my side

grounding your nervous system can look really simple
going outside.
moving your body.
feeling the sun.
slowing down.
noticing beautiful things again

for the first time in a long time, i don’t feel like I’m being chased by a bear all the time lol

i used to think running would just drain me more, but it’s actually become one of the few things that helps me slow down and reconnect with myself. somewhere along the way movement stopped feeling like punishment and started feeling like self care.

i genuinely look forward to it now. not because i’m forcing myself to, but because it makes me feel better mentally. more grounded. more present. more connected to my own life again.

and honestly i’m just really thankful for my body lately and everything it’s capable of doing 🌿

i’ve learned a lot over the past few weeks about myself.
how i think, how i move, and how that can change.
i’m learning to live my life by taking action toward what actually matters to me.
running taught me to slow down when i want to speed up.
to be present.
to sit with discomfort instead of avoiding it.
it taught me i can do hard things.
and maybe the biggest thing,
action trains the mind.
i didn’t think i could do this when i started. but i just ran my first 5k without stopping 🎉

here’s to living life by my own standards 🫶🏻
