New #waterhaul sunglasses have just arrived and are simply gorgeous. The frames are made from rope recovered from a whale entanglement in Algoa Bay off the coast of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. This is the city I grew up in and the bay where I learned to dive and watch whales as they migrated past ever season. The juvenile humpback whale was first spotted by a family friend, Lloyd Edwards who runs #raggiecharters who then contacted #nsristation6 disentanglement team for assistance. The sunnies are of a limited edition #rescuetorecycle range. I got pair number 010 with eyewear strap number 001. The packaging is stunningly beautiful and made from environmentally friendly materials with artwork by the very talented #rachelbrooksart . Solid Oak “lamb’s ear” handrail fitted. Hand sanded and 7 coats of Superior Danish Oil applied with fine sanding between coats. Client said “It looks and feels like plastic”. I’ll take that as a compliment! taken in Worcester Park by @dive.bar.rum
