Publication: The Bayonet: The History of the 7th Infantry Division in Korea”: This was a weekly publication of the 7th Infantry Division, stationed in Korea during the war. It provided updates and news to soldiers in the field, and likely included stories about engagements, training, and unit activities.

CAMP CASEY-Have you ever wondered how water is made available for you to shower, brush your teeth, or to get another ice cube in your drink? It is available be cause of constant supervision by a team of qualified engineers and chemists at the main water plant located at Camp Casey.
.
During the course of a single day,
1.5 million gallons of water are used by the men of Camps Casey, Hovey, Beavers, Kaiser, and Alex Williams. Water is pumped from the plant at a rate of 84,000 gallons an hour.
.
In addition to servicing the camps, a daily contribution of 50,000 gallons is made to the local populace and ROK military units in the 7th Division area.
The water is pulled from the Sin Chon River, near Camp Casey, by huge pumps. From that point the water is moved by gravitational flow.
.
THE WATER is treated with alum, soda ash, and activated charcoal before it enters the two sedimentation tanks. Each tank will hold 250,000 gallons. The chemicals cause all foreign matter to coagulate and settle to the bottom of the tanks.
The clean water overflows at the brim of the tank and is again filtered.

BEFORE BEING sent through the water lines for popular use it is again treated with alum and soda ash, as well as activated charcoal which removes any unpleasant tastes. The treatment is supervised by plant chemist, Mr. Kang Hui Chan.

Mr. Kang also conducts daily tests for bacteria. Samples are taken from every camp serviced by the plant.

My mom has been asking me for at least 6-7 years for these sunglasses!!! She always asks about them whenever I go home to visit.
