Some feelings are too heavy for words.
So I paint them.

They say being born in Nigeria means life starts you at 1–0.
But now, it feels more like 100–0.

Because at any moment, tragedy can become our last memory. Innocent people die avoidable deaths every single day, and the craziest part is that we are slowly adapting to it.

We adapted to inflation.
We adapted to poor electricity.
We adapted to bad leadership.
And now, we are adapting to death.

For most of my life, all I cared about was “making it.” I thought the hardest thing in Nigeria was going from 0 to 100. But staying alive here has become an even harder battle.

This artwork is a reminder that sometimes the devil doesn’t come with wings, scales, or horns.
Sometimes, they wear suits, uniforms, and smiles.
Sometimes, they look just like humans. by @divine_madeit
