⚠️ long post ahead ⚠️

growing up i had always been tiny, and it never really bothered me until i got older, and saw how small i was compared to others. while i never cared enough to do anything about it, it wasn’t until i struggled to perform my best in cheerleading, that i realized it was important for me to grow. inspired by people i looked up to, my mom, my dad, and my stepfather, i decided around senior year of high school that i wanted to look just like them: strong. i graduated high school at 89 pounds, and started sophomore year of college at 97 pounds. it wasn’t until i got with @laceypruitt that i watched my body change in ways that i had only dreamed of.

this past weekend was an absolute fever dream, and i may never stop talking about it. being on the stage, and showing everyone the months of preparation and work is an amazing feeling. i didn’t think i would accomplish this much, so bringing home a fourth place, fifth place, and second place healed something in me. i no longer feel like that skinny little girl; i am now someone completely proud and secure in my body. going through this process, you appreciate how much work you put in, and appreciate how much work others put in too. we are all capable of achieving anything, it just takes a little work.

thank you to my amazing coach lacey for helping me love myself more, give me a higher appreciation for what i can do, and of course, helping me grow in ways i could never imagine. lacey, you made little me so incredibly happy.

thank you to my amazing mother, for being my inspiration and the reason i love this sport so dearly. without you, i definitely would not be where i am today. thank you for all of your support and encouragement.

thank you to my amazing boyfriend and friends, for also being so supportive and encouraging along the way. while the journey was not always easy for me, i know it was not always easy for them either.

now that is all said and done, i can’t wait to keep growing, and to keep encouraging others the way they had all with me. here’s to the next one💅 by @dixiemgraham
