We got to spend our 5 year anniversary weekend in sunny Florida! We turned my work trip into an excuse to hit the beach, see some friends and Mitch’s dad, visit Mitch’s birthplace (Dunedin), anddd got to see our favorite team lose in one of the coolest stadiums in the NFL. The last time we went to a Bucs game together was 8 years ago and a work event of mine just so happened to be held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Feeling extremely lucky and grateful for this opportunity to spend some quality time with my amazing hubby who did a great job being my PA and model 😂 by @diy.deirdre

I found a painting my dad had started but never finished. It’s not like he died in the middle of painting it, I imagine it was one of his little projects that he set down and just forgot to pick back up again. I myself have so many little projects that I start and then my attention pulls me elsewhere. And since I inherited my ADHD from my dad, I assume this painting was something he thought he’d get around to eventually. So on the 25th anniversary of his passing, I decided to finish what he started all those years ago. It makes me feel close to him somehow to have made this together and I’ll think of him every time I walk by it.

The ache of losing him never truly disappears, but the edges have softened over time thanks to the little pieces of him we keep alive—the stories we still tell, the home videos we watch, and the memories I share with my kids.

It was my first time going to Vegas, (believe it or not!) thanks to a work opportunity! My trip was equal parts working, exploring, and lounging in a pool with my eyes closed for the first time in years. Vegas is equal parts business people, party people, and straight up freak shows—and I loved it all! Had a blast with the kids in Florida for spring break. 🌞 🌴
