🎬🍿 JAMNAGAR CINEMA SHOWDOWN!

We reviewed Mehul Cinemax, JCR-PVR Utsav & INOX Crystal Mall. Spoiler alert: the popcorn wasn’t the only thing leaving us disappointed! 😂

🎥 MEHUL CINEMAX
🪑 Comfortable loungers + best sound of the three.
🍿 Food options? Popcorn, fries & nachos. Finding a samosa is a lottery, and the fries tasted like the oil had watched one too many movies! 😭
🚽 Flooded washroom + mystery soap bottles. Yours truly accidentally picked PHENYL. 🤣. They need basic soap dispensers.

🎥 JCR-PVR UTSAV
💺 Spacious recliners + ample parking.
🛗 Give yourself 30 minutes for the lift. It has its own timetable! 😂
🍔 Limited food availability, stale items on display & a disappointing menu that is never available fully!
🔊 Sound: 2/10. We had to ask them to turn it up!
🚽 The ladies’ washroom was an Olympic obstacle course. Very bad cleanliness which you wouldn’t expect for a big Cinema franchise.

🎥 INOX CRYSTAL MALL
🍕 Foodies, this one wins for variety! Momos, pizzas, pasta, chaat, frankies & more. The taste is subjective 🤗. They customised my masala sweetcorn! ❤️
🔊 Cracking speakers, promos louder than the movie & AC that needed a motivational speech.
🚽 Bad smells, poor cleanliness & broken flushes. INOX, we need to talk! 😭

🏆 THE VERDICT
🪑 Mehul: Seating & sound
💺 PVR: Spacious recliners
🍕 INOX: Food variety

But NONE OF THEM ARE GREAT OVERALL.

And before anyone gets defensive: this review isn’t about slandering cinemas. It’s about asking for BASIC AMENITIES — clean washrooms, working flushes, soap dispensers, functioning AC, better food availability (especially at Mehul & PVR) and sound systems that deliver the movie experience filmmakers intended, not whispering dialogue and deafening promos! 😂🔊

Jamnagar deserves better. Cinema owners, PLEASE UP YOUR GAME! We want to leave impressed, not traumatised by the toilets and bad sound. 😭🎬

RAAGHVAM, JAMNAGAR 🍽️✨

The South Indian food wave in Jamnagar is REAL… but did Raaghvam live up to the hype? 🤔

We started with the Pineapple Juice 🍍 — creamy and giving serious Virgin Pina Colada vibes! Less pineapple juice more vacation to Hawaii.

Then came the Medu Vada — crispy, delicious and honestly good enough to eat all by itself. 😌

The Idli, unfortunately, was quite hard and had a slightly odd aftertaste.

The Sambhar & Coconut Chutney were decent, but I have one question for Jamnagar’s South Indian restaurants:

WHERE. ARE. THE. DRUMSTICKS. IN. THE. SAMBHAR? 😭😂

The Garlic Roast Benne Masala Dosa was crispy outside, soft inside — exactly how it should be. 👌

The Giant Delight Dosa was decent too, but came on TWO plates, giving us a little plate gymnastics with every bite. 😂. Humble request, serve long dosa’s correctly.

The regular Masala Dosa was okay, although the batter tasted noticeably different from the other dosas.

And then… Malabari Parotta & Korma.

The first parotta was HARD. Like Olympic discus hard. 😂 After a little back-and-forth, we got it replaced, but by then the korma was getting colder than my enthusiasm.

The Korma tasted more like mixed vegetable sabzi and the parotta was more burnt vibes!

The sofa seating was also a little awkward — high sofa, low table and very little room. Hello, complimentary backache! 😂

The ambience was okay, but the different staff uniforms had us wondering, “Who actually works here?” 😂

That said, the serving staff deserve a BIG shoutout — polite, prompt and genuinely hospitable. ❤️

Cleanliness could have been better too, especially the sticky table, although the tissues on the floor are definitely a two-way responsibility, customers take note! 😅

THE VERDICT?
Our experience wasn’t terrible— it just didn’t completely match the hype.

But the Medu Vada and warm service definitely gave us some highlights! ❤️

Raaghvam is worth trying & experiencing for yourself — because maybe your favourites will be completely different from ours! 👀

SOUTH INDIAN FOOD, BUT MAKE IT A SURVIVAL CHALLENGE. 🥲🍛

We went to Sri Padmanabh at Crystal Mall hoping for authentic South Indian food, especially after a wonderful experience at South Masala.

The restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday afternoon.

#jamnagar people weren’t queuing up to try out the newest restaurant in town!

Four people. ONE menu. Zero water.

We eventually ordered a bottle of mineral water and served ourselves. Hospitality, but make it DIY. 😂

Then we discovered roughly 50% of the menu wasn’t available because the restaurant had recently opened and apparently didn’t yet have all the cooks/vendors in place.

Fair enough. New restaurants need time.
But it was 34°C, so my mother asked for a fresh lime soda.

“We only have sweet lassi and filter coffee.”

We even asked if we could buy a soft drink from outside.

Nope.

Then came the welcome drink. As I have certain spice allergies, I asked what was in it.

The captain said it was called Tangy, so he assumed it contained orange juice and masala… but had no idea what else was in it.

I’m sorry, but I am not volunteering as the beta tester for a mystery drink. 😂
The captain also struggled with the pronunciation of several dishes, and when that’s combined with not knowing the ingredients, confidence levels understandably drop.

Then the crockery arrived — except some glasses, spoons and forks weren’t properly clean. We had to request replacements.

By this point, we had moved from “authentic South Indian lunch” to “please just let us survive this meal.”#reviews #southindian #southfood #jamnagarfoodies

🚨 JAMNAGAR FOODIES, WE FOUND A HIGHWAY GEM! 🚨

You know when you stop for food on a highway and accidentally discover a place you wish was inside Jamnagar? 😂

Meet Hotel Panthi! ❤️

AC family seating ✅
Non-AC seating ✅
Ample parking ✅
Clean restaurant + washrooms ✅
Tiny toy shop for those “I’m just browsing” moments 😂🎲

Now THE FOOD. 🤤

They have daily specials and when we went, it was Sizwan Paneer… except we read the whiteboard as RIZWAN PANEER. So obviously, Rizwan joined us for dinner. 😂

And the SPEED! ⚡️
Our food arrived in under 17 minutes — which was perfect because 3 people who had skipped breakfast AND lunch should probably not be allowed near a menu. 😂

Our “small” order:

🍟 Fries + Schezwan sauce (try it, it’s amazing, you’ll thank me later)
🌶️ Masala Papad
🧈 Butter Tandoori Roti
🧄 Garlic Cheese Naan
🫛 Matar Paneer
🥔 Punjabi Dum Aloo
🧈 Butter Dal Fry
🥭 Mango Lassi + dry fruits + ice cream

Everything was fresh, flavourful and properly cooked. And that dal fry? Utterly butterly delicious. 🥹🧈

But the Mango Lassi…
dessert pretending to be a beverage. 😂🥭

They serve Indian & Chinese food and although the menu isn’t massive, what they make, they make really well.

✨ Family-friendly
✨ Quick service
✨ Helpful staff
✨ Plenty of parking
✨ YUMMY FOOD

My only complaint?

WHY ARE YOU SO FAR FROM JAMNAGAR?! 😂
I’d be there every day making financially irresponsible Mango Lassi decisions. 🥭

✨ Cafelito at PVR Morkanda — pretty enough to make you forget you came here for food. 😂☕️

We dropped by The Cafelito to check out the vibe, and honestly… the interiors understood the assignment.
😍📸 The lighting is very “take 47 selfies before leaving” coded.

They’ve got Matcha, Lattes, Shakes, Smoothies, Frappes & Mocktails 🍵🥤 and the food menu is on the smaller side.

We tried the Margherita Pizza 🍕, Grilled Cheese Sandwich 🧀 & Strawberry Lemonade 🍓🍋.

Food verdict? Decent, but nothing that made my taste buds file for permanent residency. 😂 It was fairly regular, so I’d definitely love to see the food get a little more exciting and have desserts in their menu.

BUT… if you’re looking for somewhere to read a book, play board games, chill with your friends, or simply enjoy some uninterrupted time with yourself, this place definitely works. 📚🎲✨

And the prices? Fairly easy on the pocket. 💸

Would I recommend a visit? Absolutely — especially if your camera roll needs new content. 😂📸
Now Cafelito, just make the food as photogenic as the interiors and we have a deal. 🤝❤️

🍛 3 PUNJABI THALIS. 1 WINNER. ZERO SELF-CONTROL. 👀

We tried Lemon Tree, Hotel Keshwara & Rajwadu The Village Resort because apparently eating three thalis in one day is “content creation.” 🥲

🍽️ LEMON TREE
₹249-ish with the Zomato discount.
Premium packaging, no spillage, ghee on the rotis + wet wipes & mouth freshener. Thali came more prepared than I was. 😂

Then came the food… 🔥
The sabzis & dal were so spicy, my taste buds started looking for legal representation. 🌶️😭

But the Gulab Jamun? Redemption arc of the century. 👑

🍽️ HOTEL KESHWARA
Three sabzis AND two Gulab Jamuns.
Quantity said “I’ve got you.” Quality said “Let’s not get carried away.” 😂

The reusable lassi cup was a genuinely nice touch. ✨

The only problem? All three sabzis tasted suspiciously like they attended the same masala coaching class. 🥲

At ₹440-ish, our wallet was expecting a little more personality.

🍽️ RAJWADU THE VILLAGE RESORT
Now THIS thali understood the assignment. 🤌

Branded reusable cloth bag ✔️
No spillage ✔️
Farsan ✔️
Proper dressed salad ✔️
Ghee-loaded rotis ✔️
Different & delicious sabzis ✔️
Creamy masala lassi ✔️

Basically, the thali came dressed for the occasion. ✨

And then… the Gulab Jamun arrived. 🪨

Hard enough to qualify as construction material. 😭

Still, easily the best overall thali of the three.

And one question for ALL THREE…

🇮🇳 IF IT’S A PUNJABI THALI, WHERE ARE THE CHOLE, RAJMA & DAL MAKHANI?👀

Because respectfully… paneer cannot be the only Punjabi employee showing up for work. 😂

🏆 VALUE FOR MONEY WINNER: RAJWADU THE VILLAGE RESORT

Yes, it was the most expensive at around ₹498.
But when it comes to food quality + presentation + overall experience, it gave us the most bang for our thali. 🤌

Some dreams take a little hard work, a little patience, and then one day, you’re sitting behind the wheel of your very own car. 🥹🚗❤️

Our second car, but our FIRST sedan — and this one feels incredibly special.

There’s something about buying something with money you’ve worked hard for that makes the moment feel even sweeter. ❤️
All the long days, little sacrifices, planning and saving… somehow it all feels worth it when you finally get to say:

“We did it by ourselves. No hand me outs, no generational wealth, just hard earned money.” 🥹✨

And before bringing our new baby home, we had to visit Hanumanji to seek His blessings and give thanks. 🙏🏻🚩

A special shoutout to Jaideep Bhai from Volkswagen Jamnagar @volkswagen_jamnagar_ for being so helpful throughout the entire process and making our experience smooth, comfortable and memorable. We truly appreciate all your help! 🤝🏻

A birthday spent exactly how a Leo baby should spend it — eating, swimming, being slightly dramatic and generally behaving like the main character. ♌️👑😂

For my birthday, I spent the day at @7seasonsresortspa — starting with a lovely meal at their restaurant, followed by the sweetest surprise: the entire restaurant staff gathered around to celebrate and cut my birthday cake with me. 🥹🎂❤️

And then came my favourite part… THE POOL. 🌊💦

I am, unapologetically, a complete water baby. Give me a beautiful pool and I will happily spend the entire day in it. So naturally, most of my birthday involved swimming, relaxing and refusing to leave the water. 😂

The food was genuinely very tasty (they serve non vegetarian food in the rooms which was pleasantly surprising) and the staff throughout the resort were lovely and welcoming. ❤️

The spa, however… let’s just say that was the one part of the experience that didn’t quite make the birthday highlight reel. 😬 The service was disappointing and definitely not what I expected.

But all in all? Good food, lovely staff, a beautiful pool and a very happy birthday girl. ✨

So here’s to another year of good food, beautiful places, honest reviews and finding little reasons to celebrate. 🥂✨

Jamnagar being primarily a vegetarian city, it’s not easy to get good Non Vegetarian Tasty Food, so when I was given the opportunity to taste @_oishidesu__ Non Veg Sushi and Main course, I jumped at it.

I couldn’t make it to Japan, but they brought it to Jamnagar. 🍣🇯🇵

Tried @_oishidesu__ Non Veg Menu and honestly, the Chicken Katsu Curry stole the show—crispy chicken, rich curry, and Wagamama-level deliciousness! 🤌🏻

Also loved the fresh Tuna Avocado, crispy Prawn Tempura & creamy Smoked Avocado sushi. 🍱

They customise Japanese dishes too—sushi, maki, tempura & more, including non-veg options on pre-order. (The Chefs are Michelin star (chefs kiss!) so trust me this is Jamnagar’s biggest secret I’m letting you in on!).

P.S. they have separate kitchens and packaging so no cross contamination happens. So vegetarians can happily order without being worried.
