🪷 OCTOBER = BROWN GIRL MAGIC MONTH ✨ 💅🏽

It’s not often there are South Asian women headlining underground parties in London. This month, we aren’t just taking up space - we’re launching new worlds!

Four consecutive weekends. Four distinct sound journeys. Countless threads of heritage, devotion, and unapologetic power.

Come watch us shine:

✨ 03/10 Tanya Jazmine launches Flintasy. A FLINTA-led psychedelic techno daytime into nighttime rave.
@tanyajazmine
@flintasyuk

✨ 10/10 Catch N1NJA & Amber (KAKURA) at VYU.
VYU is an underground collective exploring deeper sounds through South Asian and global culture, open to all backgrounds.
@n1njamusic
@kakura_music
@vyu.world

✨ 17/10 Apsara launches The DownTempo Temple.
London’s home of slow sensual beings, a sanctuary of DownTempo music, shibari and cacao.
@dj.apara
@the.downtempo.temple

✨ 24/10 Co-founded by Yazmin, One Foot in the Rave celebrates its 3rd birthday - underground techno, underrepresented talent, and real community.

When half your friends are having babies and the other half are birthing custom-built soundsystems. Sometimes at the same time too (I see you Olesia 🫶🏽).

Congratulations @d1.v1s10n & @1606.promo on Vir Soundsystem (@vir.soundsystem). She sounds divine.

Can't wait for its first proper outing, celebrating life in its most exuberant forms. 🌋🌋🌋

Full set recording and live youtube video coming soon.

Music at the DownTempo Temple 🎵 🪬 🪷 🔮 🌱
@the.downtempo.temple

--- 🤍 ---

We welcome Apsara.

Apsara is the founder of The DownTempo Temple: a sanctuary for slow, sensual beings to gather through sound, ceremony, and immersive performance.

Apsara grew up in a musical family surrounded by the rhythms of tabla, banging dhols, temple songs and Indian folk music long before she could walk or talk.

She fell in love with UK rave culture during her student years in Bristol spending many long nights (and mornings) dancing to drum and bass, dubstep, psytrance, and techno; eventually going on to build a deep connection with the global Burning Man community.

She is equally at home beneath open desert skies as dimly lit underground dens. She has built a celebrated presence over the last 17 years across festival landscapes, intimate closed-door gatherings, and London’s sensual party spaces.

Apsara weaves mystical vocals and delicate instruments with deep, driving low-end frequencies. Her sets travel fluidly between contrasting worlds: at times luminous, ambient, and dreamy whilst at other times, delving into raw, shadowy, acid sonic explorations.

Nothing is off-limits, and everything is an inspiration.
