Although my school journey has been more or less rose-tinted overall, I have to admit that the colors have more than tarnished in the past few years, even more so in my last few semesters at university... Like many others, it would be easy for me to blame pandemic, isolation, climate change and everything else that this world and our generation have had to go through, but it would be dishonest to myself to deny being the main antagonist in my story. My lack of self-confidence, the constant denigration, the ease with which I've always devalued myself... all this only led to questioning after questioning which, slowly, dug an abyss into which I was falling, more and more, every day, undermining, one by one, my many dreams which, at one time, seemed accessible.

Those who know me can attest to my difficulty in valuing my strengths and celebrating my achievements and victories. "Anyone can do that, it's not that special," says the little voice in my head.

But this step is nothing of the sort. This milestone is not insignificant for ME. It's proof of the determination, resilience and remarkable internal work I've had to cultivate for over fifteen years to witness its rewards. It's proof that I can do it too, and that I'll always be able to if I believe in myself. This milestone deserves to be recognized and crowned on behalf of all the efforts I've made. Thanks to God and many great men and women, a new woman from the Black community has been added to the professional world. We can only rise from here🤞🏽✨ by @dj.ennifer
