The AFAS project
A workbench of 2.5 by 2.5 meter kept the translucent faceplate flat and by useing 2x4 pine beams as benchtop i created space to check level between two faceplates when glued together. A rebate around the matching faceplate created bigger gluesurfaces.
The 2 component glue only had 60% strenght comparing too the hi-macs and seams as big 0.3 mm were the max. And with glue setting at 8 minutes, strict planning was at hand with every piece.

With the faceplates flat, jigs kept the walls at an 90 degree angle. Instantglue was a big help on the jigs. It didn't penetrate the hi-macs but kept the plywood jigs in place.
The #bessey quickgrip-clamps were excellent for the job. Because they are easy to adjust and i could also use them for spreading. Many glue-ups were a challenge but that's what gets me out of bed in the morning.
