OP says he knew one thing from the beginning he wasn’t signing something he didn’t agree with.

He recalls an officer pressuring him to sign paperwork related to his Miranda rights, but OP refused because he maintained his innocence.

He was then taken to city jail and charged with second-degree robbery.

For OP, this became the beginning of a fight that would follow him for years.

OP says there was a point when he felt safer in prison than he did while receiving medical care.

While recovering in the hospital, he says he experienced an assault that left him questioning the very systems that were supposed to protect him.

But through everything, one person never turned his back on him Mike Romano.

OP says Romano believed his case deserved to be heard and continued standing beside him when others wouldn’t.

Sometimes one person believing you can be enough to keep the fight alive.

OP says finding someone willing to fight his case became a battle of its own.

After multiple attorneys backed away, he began questioning whether outside interference was preventing his case from moving forward.

Now, after filing again, OP says he’s found an attorney outside the jurisdiction willing to take a closer look at his claims.

After more than two decades, his goal remains the same:

Clear his name. Clear his record. And finally move forward with his life.
