We're honored to link with Victoria Friends of Cuba for the upcoming Bop. 67 years after the revolution’s triumph, Cuba faces intensified imperialist aggression. We stand with Cuban socialist sovereignty & the right to trade free from siege & sanctions. **Event Link in Bio**

A Commie Bop is an expression of freedom, verve, and solidarity. Share yours with us—let’s bask in the liberating imagination of our city!

Doors: 6pm Event: 7pm - 10pm
Co-hosts: Dani Jackson and Wes Carroll

All proceeds go to Victoria Friends of Cuba: Victoria Friends of Cuba's solidarity work has been non-stop since our birth in 1992. We have been able to host and sponsor many guest speakers, screen documentaries, begin letter writing and petition campaigns, do media work, hold cultural events, organize demonstrations and marches, fund raise, participated in 20 Pastors for Peace caravans and co-ordinated a number of them across Canada. As imperialism plans to intensify the criminal blockade attempting to annihilate the Cuban Revolution, we stand in solidarity with Cuba and their neighbours. Attacks against democratic, environmental movements and our freedoms will no doubt continue in the coming year. However, our ongoing struggle will give hope as we work for more victories.

About Commie Bop: A Commie Bop is freedom in motion—a song, a poem, a spell, a skit, a dance against the grind of colonial capitalism. It’s where creativity smashes exploitation, where solidarity squeezes alienation, and where we (yes, we, the ridiculous and unruly) celebrate our collective fire. This is a space to howl anti-capitalist anthems, share art that bites back, and honour past and future generations. Leftist debates? Vital. But tonight we revel in the kaleidoscope of our movement, checking our purity test kits at the door with our hearts open to each other’s stories. We have license to be silly little peasants! Think Carnival mocking lords and kings…

Big thanks to Spencer Lachmanec for the amazing designs 🥰
