Beyond excited to be playing @summerofsoundwpg TOMORROW ! 🆘 Catch my opening set from 3-4 PM on the 4th stage ! 🎧 I’ve been going to Summer of Sound almost every year since it started, and this is my second time DJing at it ! 🎶 Can’t believe I get to play on the same day as some of my favourite techno artists @laytongiordani and @dannyavila as well as the legend @tiesto ! 🔊 Cannot wait to open up the first day of the festival ! 🎵

Cannot wait to open up for my favourite techno artist @marievaunt tomorrow night ! 🖤 Catch me playing B2B with @_justlav opening up the night from 7:30-8:30 ! 🎧 This is going to be Winnipeg’s biggest techno event ever ! 🔊 Thank you again to everyone that voted for me for the Marie Vaunt opening DJ contest ! 🫶 JustLav and I pretty much tied so we’re both playing the opening time slot DJing together B2B ! 🙌🏻 Over 1000 people voted which is crazy cuz that means about 500 people voted for each of us ! 🤯 To see that much love and support from my friends is crazy ! 🥹 Thank you for making my birthday wish come true of getting to open up for my favourite artist ! 🥳 I’m still getting back to everyone’s messages if I haven’t responded yet ! 🥰 And thank you again to @warehaus11 for the opportunity ! 🤗

Marie Vaunt is literally my favourite techno artist and I play her music all the time in all of my sets ! I got to meet her and talk to her a bit last year after her show in Winnipeg, and her style of music is also the type of music I am learning to produce ! And it’s also my birthday weekend ! 🎂 This would be an honour and a dream come true to be able to open up the night for this event ! Can’t wait to be back DJing at @bringyourlovefestival this weekend ! Catch my set Sunday at 6 PM on the Temple Stage ! 🎧🏯🔊

Last year I dedicated my set to one my best friends @jillianhickey_ who just passed away suddenly right before Bring Your Love. The second last song I played and the song in this video was our favourite song to sing together, Habits by @tovelo and I closed out my set with one of her favourite songs “Innerbloom” but the @itsrumpus remix. It was a very emotional set for me and all our friends that knew her, we cried and held each other close at the start and end of my set, but it was also my way of honouring her and getting closure. It’s crazy because for the next month or so until her celebration of life I heard different remixes of this song multiple different times, other DJ’s playing it at SOS and the SOS block party, in retail stores, and my friends even heard it too popping up randomly in the car or even other cities. The weird thing is that I haven’t heard this song in years, and all of a sudden she passes away and there’s all these remixes of the song I’m hearing everywhere. Coincidence? Who knows, but in my opinion, I think it was her.

I’m so grateful that our whole group of friends could be there to experience this together during my set, and I know she was there with us. She was planning on coming to BYL one day, which now will never happen, but she’ll always will be there with us in spirit. One of my friends also said to me after my set, “It’s amazing that you can take your gift and turn something terrible into something beautiful.” That hit home for me, because I guess that means I’m doing something right. That’s was making music and DJing is all about, creating love and memories with your music. BYL allows everyone to create their own beautiful memories and encourages everyone to showcase their gifts and talents in all sorts of different ways. This festival is truly a festival of bringing and showing your love in unique ways, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.
