Strawberry Fest at @fishcakehawaii 🍰
Took this project as my own opportunity to be creative and come up with a set that sounded “strawberry” to me. Went with a theme of old meets new disco, funk and pop, most songs united by either a funky bass line, bright guitar riff, or sweet sounding Philadelphia strings. Loved finding lyrics held themes of romance, summer, gold and obviously, strawberries 🍓✨
Anyway, I’m so grateful for my supportive friends taken in fishcake by @djbuttercut

Getting to curate different songs for each of the designers to highlight their unique styles was a totally different creative project. It was really rewarding to see how each of the models shine and enjoyed their craft on another level when the vibe hit just right.
I was inspired by the all the beautiful people inside and out, some of which are revered and well versed in the fashion world, and others who are brave enough to start putting themselves out there. Both built each other up and I was so lucky to witness your wonderful community ♥️

I was unexpectedly excited when prepping my crate with pop and Disney sing alongs since I hardly get to play those. It was so fulfilling to DJ alongside @geraldine_uy and StartFromLeft at very different type of gig. We loved seeing all the keiki be included in the dancing, singing, or silence with their friends and parents. Thank you to Nanakuli Public Library, Autism Society of Hawaii, Children’s Community Council and other community sponsors for providing a space for kids to be wild, quiet, and silly. taken in Nānākuli Public Library by @djbuttercut
