DJ Chefal Dubplate Special

Tomorrow night (Friday 16th May), one of dubstep’s original pioneers, @djchefal, will take the stage with a “dubplate special” set. As a foundational figure present at the genre’s inception, Chefal has had rare access to some of dubstep’s most influential artists. Through his work at the legendary Transition Mastering Studios alongside Jason Goz and LD, he’s become a true dubplate connoisseur, with one of the most revered collections in the scene to prove it.

For a little taste of what to expect tomorrow night, Chefal offered a rare dig through his most prized dubplates, featuring early cuts from legends like Skream, Benga, and Digital Mystikz, along with a trove of his infamous VIPs and specials. As we sifted through the collection, he shared the stories and history behind each plate, offering a glimpse into the roots and evolution of the genre. Full video out soon.

Croydon's own DJ Chef, aka Chefal, is a true dubstep pioneer known for his impeccable DJ skills. He started DJing at the tender age of 11 and was one of the first DJs to bring 3-deck mixing into the genre. As well as holding down a regular Rinse FM show, he has also worked at the legendary Transition Studios and ran his own labels, Ringo Records and Sub Freq, releasing some of dubstep's biggest anthems including Coki's 'Goblin', Cluekid's 'Hovercraft', Benga's 'The Scratch', and Mala's 'Sinner', to name a few.

Catch him at Green Works tonight for a 2-hour set B2B with LOTU and Chad Dubz. Dubs will be flying!!! 🔊🔥

Tectonic Sound - announcing our first dance of 2026! Friday Feb 6th at the newly opened Moon Club space at Lakota, Bristol. If you’ve not checked it out yet, it’s basically a dark room with a bassy house system with separate bar area and seating! No photos/filming, just immersive experience.

We are proud to host a special and rare appearance from Headhunter who will bring a heavily weighted dose of bass hypnosis, alongside rhythm and beat scientist Cocktail Party Effect, the OG Croydon dubplate champ DJ Chefle and an all vinyl set from dope selecta Amaia. It’s a curated musical journey so get down early and stay late, doors from 10.30pm to 3am.

We comin back for our annual-ish JAUNT in south, graciously hosted once again by everyone's favourite grubby little warehouse M.O.T ! This time it's all extended back to backs and im flying Pharma and Sedan back in from Austria as a lil treat for those who missed their boat set at Outlook which was complete chaos. Me and Viv had the same idea and he got to it first but that don't stop Riz and Chefal being a sick matchup on dubplate so lighters up System style for that one! Sosi and Maxwell are two unreal selectors who absolutely shelled Unhappen recently and instantly went on the lineup, and me and charlie fearless gonna do our silly little thing as well.
