It's time for our annual πŸŽƒGROOP.BUMPSπŸŽƒ Halloween Party! Good timing too because we're trapped in some kind of liminal space (one that is NOT based on a YouTube series turned successful film adaptation). There's a dimensional doorway at El Dorado Bar in Troy, but we need you to come find us and HELP!! πŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ˜±πŸ‘»πŸŽƒ Can you hear that? Those loud heavy thumps echoing from every direction? It could be a giant monster lumbering its way toward us at a rate of 128-140spm (stomps per minute), or it could be some HEAVY Haunted House, Techno, Breakbeats, and Electronica music as sweet as treats! No tricks! (It's been changed to trunks anyway). Can you see that? Those concomitant visuals unfurling in hypnotizing glitchy fractal patterns. HDMI going crazy or what? Come find us on October 9th so we can complete the groop ritual. We need you to dance! We need your energy! We need you all to run up a large bar tab! A spectacle must be created in order to escape this horror. HELP!! πŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ˜±πŸ‘»πŸŽƒ But OMG seriously though, it's already almost October?? That's the scariest thing we've heard all day. 2026 is flying by like a bat out of hell! We want to grab that little sucker by the wings and give you all a chance to get spooked and scared in a fun way before the horrors of the new year come to reap our souls from our physical bodies and upload them to an extremely parched data center server somewhere. Let's get weird with it! πŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ˜±πŸ‘»πŸŽƒ GROOP.BUMPS Halloween Party groop.lab DJ Set and Visuals El Dorado Bar 121 4th St, Troy, NY Friday, October 9th 2026 10pm - Close FREE SHOW - NO COVER taken in Troy, New York by @djchoddy

Continuing our groop.lab mix series, here's another one from @djchoddy that you can listen to on our #soundcloud πŸ”—link in bioπŸ”— "When I was a TV/video production major at SUNY Plattsburgh, I took a class in public speaking and did my final project on Terrence McKenna's 'Novelty Theory.' What I remember most from giving that presentation was the classroom full of confused students before me. No one expected a report on psychedelic philosophy, and that was what made it fun for me. At that moment I took a step away from the patterns of institutional habit. I didn't choose a safe, or undeniably coherent topic. I dug into my creativity to present an example of a novel phenomenon to the class. Even though I failed to convince anyone to go study the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, or that Time Wave Zero could calculate the singularity, I was fully in the moment and not worrying about how many times I said 'um.' By the end of the semester I had had a lot of fun and I got an A in the class. I wanted this mix to feel like that. This mix is an expression of a creative cosmic occurrence; a novelty. Enjoy your summer. Stay cool!" -DJ Choddy #jazzy #jackinhouse #acidhouse #electronica Track list:: 1. Jazzy Jacker – Planktom 2. Stoned – Erik Bo 3. This Saturday, November 1st, we will be building up some grooves for ARCHTOBER: Troy Edition! ART BLOCK PARTY by @collarworks and @tap_inc The evening will be all about celebrating experimental contemporary art and architecture in Collar Works' future outdoor Art Yard space. We've been asked to provide some DJ vibes and a dance set that evokes the spirit of architecture. We're constructing a bit of a hardstyle (mediumstyle?) set with layered textured sounds to match the energy. We're also VERY excited to be mixing alongside the insurmountable @architraveband who will be playing what we're sure will be an incredible set! (FYI: If you haven't heard their latest album you should. We highly recommend it.) There will be so much going on in the Art Yard we can't name it all here! Come see for yourself! Two days ago we had to say goodbye to our little boy Louie. He was the best cat a person could ask for. From the moment I saw him at the humane society I knew he was special. He was already 8 when I adopted him and he had been given up twice. A fact I still can't believe because he was the sweetest, kindest and most gentle cat I've ever known. He had a big personality and was genuinely hilarious. He loved to cuddle and wouldn't be shy about sitting on laps. He charmed everyone who met him and was always able to make everyone smile. He had his health issues and for years we did everything we could to take care of him, but at the age of 17, almost 10 years after he came into my life his struggles became too much. I love and miss you so much already. I will always remember the great moments we shared together. You can rest easy now. β™₯️ Louie October 3rd 2007 - March 31st 2025 by @djchoddy
