Words really can’t explain how proud I was watching Destiny take the field for her first college performance with Alabama State University Sensational Stingettes! 🐝💛🖤

I know how much work, dedication, sacrifice, and countless hours she has put in to reach this moment. Watching her step out there and do what she loves on the college level was something special.

As a father, sometimes you just sit back and enjoy watching your child in their moment. This was Destiny’s moment, and I enjoyed every second of it. Seeing the confidence, growth, and happiness on her face made all the hard work worth it.

This is only the beginning of another chapter in your journey, Destiny. Keep working, keep believing, and keep making your mark. Dad is extremely proud of you!

Happy 16th Birthday, DeVan Sykes! 🎉🎂💙

Today you officially step into Chapter 16, and I couldn’t be more proud of the young man you are becoming. Watching you grow, mature, and develop into your own person has been one of my greatest blessings.

As you enter this new chapter, always remember to believe in yourself, stay focused, remain humble, and never be afraid to chase your dreams. Life will bring challenges, but every challenge is an opportunity to become stronger, wiser, and better.

Today has been a day… one filled with every emotion imaginable.

From the moment we woke up until we pulled away from Montgomery, reality slowly settled in—our baby girl’s journey at Alabama State University has officially begun.

I think Chuck @djchuck_styles and I have both been on cloud nine, celebrating this incredible milestone while trying to hold back the tears. But nothing prepared me for that final hug. As I held her, the tears started falling, and my baby girl looked at me and said, “No, Mama. I’m going to be just fine, and I’m going to make you all proud.”

In that moment, I realized our job as parents brought her to this point, but God will take her the rest of the way. We planted the seeds, prayed over her, encouraged her, and loved her every step of the way. Now it’s time to trust God with the beautiful future He has prepared for her.

@destiny._sykes , continue to let your light shine. Continue walking boldly in your purpose, with God ordering every one of your steps. Never forget who you are, where you came from, or how deeply you are loved. Your dad and I will always be your biggest supporters, your loudest cheerleaders, and your safe place. And knowing your Uncle Tony @1y_blood is just around the corner gives this mama’s heart a little extra peace.

Go chase every dream, Baby Girl. Make memories, grow, learn, and become everything God has called you to be.

So many people know Chuck by different names—Coach, @djchuck_styles , coworker, student, friend, dad, and husband. No matter what title he carries, one thing never changes: he gives his all in every role.

Tonight, he was honored as Regional Manager of the Year, and I couldn’t be more proud of my best friend and my husband. Watching your dedication, humility, and relentless work ethic pay off has been an incredible blessing. You lead with excellence, serve with integrity, and inspire so many people along the way.

Congratulations on your promotion to Regional Manager of the South! This is just another testament that hard work, consistency, and faith never go unnoticed.

There are moments in life when you look around at everything God has built and realize… this is what answered prayers look like.

Over the years, our family has grown into something so beautiful—a blended family held together not by blood alone, but by unconditional love, grace, sacrifice, and God’s unfailing hand.

I thank God for this version of you—the man who has matured through every season, who chooses love daily, who leads with humility, serves without recognition, and gives from the heart even when no one is watching.
