MEET ERNIE

Fresh out of high school and working full time in fast food, one free dance class changed his whole trajectory. Meet Ernie Scales, known to his crew as DJ Ernie, or simply Flash. A Cleveland native, and the reason a room’s energy amplifies the second he walks in.

His path into event entertainment started with a mentor, DJ Paul “Skoobie” Thompson, who introduced him to the industry. That first spot as a dance instructor at Urban Artz Dance Studio, under owner Desiree Parkman, is where it all began.

He calls his energy capless. The kind he can summon the second he wakes up, and he layers it across four disciplines at once; breakdancing and party motivating on the floor, running AV behind the scenes, and emceeing and DJing everywhere in between.

Today he’s the founder of his own company, PassionEye Productions, running it alongside his older brother Nick Kelly and a team of seven multi talented artists, handling entertainment and AV for weddings, Mitzvahs, corporate events, birthday parties, charity events, and community celebrations.

He’s partnered with the Cleveland Browns, So You Think You Can Dance, Red Bull Dance Your Style, the Cleveland Zoo, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, alongside his ongoing work with us here at The Energy Producer.

Along the way he’s picked up dance battle and DJ battle wins, Best New DJ nominations, a Father of the Year honor, a Who’s Who nomination, and 3+ years as Lead Tour Guide at A Christmas Story House and Museum.

His mission is simple, provide a solution for every entertainment need while creating an environment that’s fun, safe, and genuinely memorable. Give him any room and he’ll read it, adapt to it, and make it better.

Know someone still figuring out what’s next?

Send them this.

Sometimes it really does start with one free class, one yes, one room.

February 27, 2026, marked a milestone - my first Party Motivator Master Class! I’m grateful for the expertise shared by @jusmovz216 on injury-preventing stretches, @zay_irving on his path to becoming a paid dancer, and Dj Juse @carlo.tinox on the crucial DJ-dancer partnership. Thanks also to @aaronjames216 and Shawn @bestdjincleveland for shedding light on what companies seek in party motivators. Thank you @limitlessdanceacademy_ for hosting us. To all attendees, thank you for being part of this experience! I’m eager to see how this class will empower you to become outstanding party motivators!

Opinion Alert:

DJing is not about choosing a few tunes. It is about generating shared moods; its about understanding the feelings of a group of people and
directing them to a better place.

Claire and Jake connected with @djernie216 at the @theelliotcle engagement soirée (which happens every January!) and brought us in for their special day. Ceremony sound, cocktail hour, reception & uplighting are all things we provided to keep the day rolling and the vibes high.

A 5-star review later, this is a reminder of why community events matter to us.

The best clients become real connections.

We are so proud to be alongside so many amazing people and their special events.

‼️SAD POST FOR ME ‼️ Have some free time Saturday?? Come check out @limitlessdanceacademy_, DANCERS SHOWCASE🕺🏾to purchase tickets reach out too @limitlessdanceacademy_

It took me a while to post this one🥺 This Saturday is my Farewell to Next StEp Dance Crew🥺 I loved every Era of this crew and the people I met and grew with throughout the 10+ years we put into it. This show Case Mean ALOT to me because not only is it my retirement from live performances BUT it is the Debut for my youngest princess. That’s right! This Saturday is the first and last time I will finally hit the stage with one of my kids. Everyone who are coming to support will get the chance to see Kimora pick up where I am leaving my career, unfortunately I will not have the privilege to dance next to all the members of Next St3p not even the ones I started the crew with but I will have the chance to dance next to some very dedicated and very talented individuals. Goodbye @nextst3pdancecrew I will forever love each and every one of you. WHATS N3XT! 😭😭😭 taken in Cleveland, Ohio by @djernie216
