I used to think my PhD would fill that void in me to an ultimate achievement , but God humbled me today. I haven’t broken down like that since my Pops passed away.You look for a sign like, ‘Hey, you’re doing it right. Your impact is being seen. You are the change you preach season after season.’ Well, seeing my entire team present—and those who couldn’t make it sending their families & hear how much of a role we play in these kids lives —made me look at myself a little differently.All of our graduates are attending college on full Track & Field scholarships: Pitt, Oklahoma, Kansas, Henderson. I’m at a loss for words. Thinking back : Being a DJ literally laid out a path for me to fund a lot of things for my kids when I started this organization , but it also to this day gives me a way to connect with certain kids that regular adults just can’t reach. I’ve learned over the years that Success isn’t in the fame; it’s in consistency , acknowledgment, & using dedication, determination, while remaining disciplined when your whole world is turned upside down or even against you. What is a win if you can’t learn from it?Every single one of my 60 kids follows these principles. ‘Proud’ is far below what I feel right now —I am beyond BLESSED to have played a role in changing these kids lives for the better. I wish all my athletes success as they enter the next chapters of their college lives! Congratulations. Dr., Coach , Mentor , Friend. Florida was a hell of a run & the biggest lesson I learn was I can adapt to any environment! The people are cool. I made some great connections and I’m looking forward to working together soon to see what we can pull off!!! From Jax to Orlando Daytona to the 305 , everyone was 💯. I have to add you all have a beautiful state! Thank you for having me in your establishments and showing me love. I’m learning life can you a lot of BS quick only to show you your direction. Sometimes the path has been there the entire time, but you’re so caught up in the day-to-day that you simply overlook it.I took a trip to relax because I have been going at 100 mph for months with many successes, but even more disappointments. Fake love and a lot of pipe dreams shot my way. Then reality kicked in and it said, “change your environment , make an uncomfortable move , and see what happens.” It ended in me networking and worked with some real city shakers and built some really cool business relationships. Not bad for a couple of weeks! I’ll be back real soon. But, I have to admit, out of all the stops , Orlando has my eye right now. It’s a hidden gem 💎 I love what I seen with the residents ! No words but I had a great family moment I will never forget , I haven’t seen my uncle or my cousin since my pops passed away 20+ yrs ago . In researching my family I ended up speaking with my cousin & his family & it turned into a small family reunion. As distant as my family can been you still need to communicate & mine is literally scattered all over the globe 🌎. I’m very thankful to reconnect with my uncle it was something I’ve been wanting to do since I got back here from DC years ago. God somehow made the stars align , it was a great 1st conversation to many more ahead of us both. My pops taught me the honor of carrying my last name ! I remember this clearly “ Family will be family but they are still yours at the end of the day . So don’t ever forget where u come from “. I’d stop by when I was in college & chatted with my pops for hours a lot before he passed , he told me a lot about all his family I mean story’s for days some I didn’t care to hear but definitely insight ing , who to know, etc. I remember names here & there so when I look back I couldn’t place faces with names . But listening to my cousin, aunt & uncle talk I started connecting some of those dots . I have a pretty clear road map now….. so this should be a very fun journey. California, I’ll see u soon 👋……. Canada 🇨🇦 is next….. & the final chapter @paris.explore. France 🇫🇷, bad or good I want to see my roots & see the history…… been some sad stuff thus far & it’s still 3 or 4 lines to travel 🧳 I’m only on my last name branch, this is wild in its self ! by @djfirehtx
