What a night 😭🎶💃🏼NYC Part 1 – Soul in the Horn (yeah, this post will be in 2 parts)Truly a whirlwind… and a huge box checked for me, playing in NYC for the first time AND with the @soulinthehorn crew for Soul Records Laboratory Wednesdays @timeoutmarketnewyork. 6 years ago I was just playing my records on Twitch.We don’t usually get deep on here anymore.Honestly, I usually keep things pretty surface-level on here. I post my gigs, I post my highlights, just like everyone else. But I wanted to take some time to acknowledge a few of my own milestones as a DJ/artist.It wasn’t that long ago that it was just me streaming on Twitch and playing some records. Fast forward six years later, I’m playing for @dtlaartnight , traveling to NYC for @soulinthehorn SRL, traveling everywhere, frankly, booked to DJ in cities I’ve never even been to before.I hardly ever take time to celebrate the wins. I keep trying to challenge myself in this space, pushing further and further, even starting to work on remixes and edits, and continuously pushing myself on the tables, with barely a moment to really acknowledge what I’ve accomplished in such a short period of time.Anyway, I got a little sentimental today and figured I’d share how I was feeling.The clip above is just a clip. Just a piece of the story. NYC Trip Part 2🎶It’s hard to put into words how incredible this trip was.First off, huge shoutout to my ride or die, mod, and one of my besties @stormysmusicsounds for coming along on this journey through music, shenanigans, and countless subway rides. And @yeahsheatethat , an absolute gem and the best host. This trip wouldn’t have been the same without you.Some major highlights…Hanging with @djspinna in his studio, so great meeting you and talking records and gear. And wow, what a space!Finally meeting some of my @45bandits , @dj_bles_sed @djfatharamzee @ynvs_pinkietuscadero @rawqnyc AND @djpsol handing me a 1-of-1 Jill Scott edit he did on 45🔥Andddd meeting the very lovely and talented @djmondayblue Twitch fam coming into town @djpanda617 just to meet and support for SRL/SITH.
