Hyrox Dallas 2025 race #3 of the weekend was my Qualifying ticket to Hyrox World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden. I was called so many names for doing 3 races in one weekend but truth is, I never denied any of those names 😂

Hyrox Houston March 15th, 2025 🥇
@brandon_bonine & I Qualified for Hyrox World Championship in Men’s Doubles AG 40-49.
I can’t express how proud I am to be a part of this team. Coach Brandon has pushed me beyond my limits these past 6 months. I competed in my first Hyrox only 4 months ago and I now have two 🥇 flags hanging on the wall at @boldfitnesstx
This journey has been absolutely incredible and this is just the beginning. I’m so blessed to be able to do the things I’m capable of doing. After cutting my left leg in half by a boat propeller in 2008, I didn’t know I would ever be able to walk without a limp much less compete in a World Championship in one of the worlds largest sports.
I want to make sure you all know that none of this is me, it’s God. The Lord has blessed my life so much since I’ve decided to give my life to Jesus Christ back in 2022. I’ve worked so hard on killing the old me to allow the new me to be born. I’m not perfect by any means and I still have a long way to go but we’re headed in the right direction. Thank You Jesus 🙌🏽
I would also like to thank my beautiful wife @billiegw for always supporting my goals no matter how ridiculous they are. She’s my rock, she’s my sanity and she’s my best friend.
Huge thanks to my people over at @boldfitnesstx for all the love and support. It doesn’t go unnoticed I promise you, I love you guys.

Introducing JESUS to the stage 🙌🏽
This was a very special moment in my life, one that I will never forget. I had the honor of introducing Jesus to my church @restorationchurchwf & @rsm_students
I have prayed for a year and half for God to show me what my purpose is for his people and where to serve.

Back in May I got a call that changed my life. @kari.hogan & @claireklukwilson asked me if I would be interested in serving as the DJ & Emcee/Hype Man for Destiny Sports Camp (Kids) for our church @ Restoration. I absolutely said YES. I got off the phone and immediately hit my knees and said thank you Father, thank you for this opportunity. When I was asked to do this camp, I reached out to the youth pastor and asked if they had 3 minutes they could give me to introduce Jesus for the older students in their camp. Initially the answer was no but after DJ & Emcee’n for Destiny’s Camp, the youth Pastor @knowthefight asked me if I would still be interested in introducing Jesus….I’ve waited for a chance to share my gifts with God’s people and here it was.

This is my take on the skit of Steve Harvey introducing Jesus to his stage. Steve has always been one of my favorite comedians and I take a lot of inspiration from him in my career. Obviously, I put my spin on it and added a lot of credits to the skit.

God, I pray that you will continue to use me in anyway that you see fit for my life. I want to be obedient to your will and your ways. Thank you for the opportunities to glorify your name on and off the stage. You kept me alive for 40 years and I’m starting to understand that there’s a reason why. My life is yours Father, work with me and through me for your will.

I can’t thank Restoration and everyone involved in these camps for this opportunity, I am so blessed y’all 🙌🏽

When you truly love what you do, it never feels like just a job. 🎧🔥

I get to make a living doing something I genuinely enjoy…. creating energy, connecting with people, and being part of some of the best moments of their lives.

This is my career, but I’m still having just as much fun behind the decks as I did when I started.

Love what you do. Have fun doing it. And never take the opportunity for granted. 🙏🏽🙌🏽

My calendar is filling up, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I’m not sure what plans The Lord has for me. Whatever it is, I know that everything is going to be okay!

I prayed before this race and asked God if it was in his will to please numb my injuries during this race especially my plantar fasciitis. I didn’t have a great training camp at all but I knew that I couldn’t miss this opportunity. I was unable to run during training and was very limited in my preparation. When I got off my knees my foot felt completely fine. This was the first time I didn’t feel pain in my foot while running since December of 2025.

Won’t he do it 🙌🏽

Now with that being said Jesus delivered on my request but as soon as the race was over the pain immediately came back 😩 I never asked for more than the race so I wasn’t surprised but grateful for the pain free time I had.

There are moments in life that leave you with nothing to say except, “THANK YOU, JESUS.”

Out of over 1,000,000 HYROX competitors this season, only 0.5% earned an invitation to compete at the HYROX World Championships. By God’s grace, I was blessed to stand on that start line for the second consecutive year.

I never imagined that after not competing in sports for over 20 years, God would open a door for me to become an athlete again, let alone represent on the world stage. None of this is because I deserve it. It’s simply another reminder of God’s goodness and faithfulness in my life.

A huge thank you to my partner, Mark Gess, for accepting the challenge to fly halfway around the world to Stockholm, Sweden, and take this journey with me.
We are The Grandpas Wit Grit!!!

Our names are now forever written in the HYROX World Championship history books, and no one can ever take that away. But more important than any result or accomplishment is knowing that every opportunity has been a gift from God.

I’m incredibly grateful for every mile, every workout, every struggle, every friendship, every sponsor, every injury, every lesson, every good day, every bad day and every blessing along the way.

And to my beautiful wife, Billie… thank you for being my biggest supporter, my rock, and the steady foundation that has carried me through every high and low. Thank you for believing in me on the days I doubted myself, for making sacrifices so I could chase this dream. None of this would have been possible without your love, encouragement, and unwavering support. I am beyond blessed to walk through life with you by my side. I love you more than words can express.

I don’t know if this is the end of my HYROX journey… but if it is…GOD… it would have been enough.

It’s unbelievable to think that just a few years ago, I wasn’t even an athlete.

The last time I competed in anything was my freshman year of high school… over 20 years ago.

Now, by the grace of God, I’ve been given the opportunity to compete at the HYROX World Championships for the second year in a row. I never could have imagined this chapter of my life.

The truth is, if all God had done was help me become healthier and physically fit…. even if I never stepped onto a competition floor, that would have been enough.

Thank You, Jesus, for never giving up on me. For Your grace, Your faithfulness, and for showing me that it’s never too late for a new beginning.

To God be all the glory 🙌🏽

Setting the tone for your reception starts long before the dance floor opens… it starts with the wedding party introductions!

Announcing dinner in less than 30 seconds!!!

Sounds simple, right? But commanding the attention of an entire room full of people isn’t as easy as it looks.

One of the biggest differences between a DJ and a true HOST is the ability to take control of a room, grab everyone’s attention, and have every guest hanging on every word. No screaming, no begging, no chao….just confidence, personality, timing, and presence.

Hosting isn’t easy and not everyone can do it well. It takes a lot of confidence to stand in front of hundreds of people and lead the flow of the night. And yes... if it’s done wrong, it can get real cheesy, real fast.

That’s why I work hard to make every announcement feel natural, energetic, and engaging while keeping the attention exactly where it needs to be.

The music matters. The mixing matters. But don’t underestimate the power of a great host.
