Hey friends! 👋

DJ KShal here-- Austin is full of ridiculously cool people, and somehow I’ve collected a whole roster of them.

So I’m starting a little series to put y’all onto the DJs, artists, organizers, dancers, makers, and nightlife weirdos who keep this city interesting — because the community behind the party deserves some shine, too. ✨

ATX!!! I'm back in town! I've got two opportunities for y'all to party with me this week (swipe to see events + a pic of me 🐸)

I missed y'all during Austin pride, but as I reflect on the origins of "Pride" and the various things happening in our community, this Pride Month, for me, is not just about celebrating joy, love, and community-- it's also about honoring the radical legacy of those who came before us. 🌈

We're continuing the fight like they did: for liberation, for survival, and for a future where all of us are free. ⛓️‍💥

But let's not forget why we fight for these spaces. And I hope that you'll celebrate joy with me, even just for a few hours. 🪩

"Joy is an act of resistance" - Toi Dericotte. 💖

✨ Friday @neonrainbowstx @highballaustin

✨ Saturday @austindykemarch @butterfly_bar_atx

Happy Pride, Austin. Let's celebrate joy together 🪩🌈🎧

(If y'all saw this post earlier with the wrong month, no you didn't 🫣)

IF YOU FIND YOUR ESCAPE ON THE DANCEFLOOR, LOOK NO FURTHER… 💃 And welcome back @dragonnqueen, who will be closing out your night in Volstead so you can dance til 1 am. We thought we’d bring our favorite dragon inside this time around. 😉

Before her, please familiarize yourself with @djkshal and @_nnephalem_.

DJ Kshal is known in the queer nightlife scene with dance pop and chaotic party vibes, bringing you the perfect middle ground for your evening.

Nephalem is our hyper pop, dark wave angel from above making sure no one leaves the dance floor as a saint. Her “hymns” will make you vibe as we open up the day with her goth beats.

The dance room in Volstead is meant to be your escape when you’re done elsewhere. The dance room is here for you. The DJ is here for you. Lose yourself to dance.

*$10 FOR SAPPHICS. $60 FOR MEN AND NON SAPPHICS WHO DO NOT ARRIVE WITH A SAPPHIC. THIS IS A SAPPHIC FOCSED EVENT. FLINTA INCLUSIVE. TERFS NOT WELCOME by @djkshal
