🎧 SELECTOR'S SPOTLIGHT: DJ MANNI 🇬🇭🔥

DJ Manni, born Emmanuel Kwadjo Denkyi, is a Ghanaian DJ, Selecta, radio host and music curator known for his major contribution to the growth and promotion of Ghanaian Reggae, Dancehall, Afrobeats and Hiplife. Based in London, Manni developed a strong passion for Ghanaian Dancehall after returning to Ghana and discovering the growing movement around artists such as Iwan and Shatta Wale. He eventually turned his extensive collection of Ghanaian music into a professional DJ career.

Manni became particularly influential through his mixtapes and sound-system culture. In 2008, he joined forces with DJ Gashie and GH Bekoe to establish One Love Africa Sound System, using mixtapes as a platform to promote emerging Ghanaian musicians. His Shatta Wale mixes, GH Dancehall series and numerous Reggae/Dancehall compilations helped push Ghanaian artists to audiences locally and internationally. His second Ghana Dancehall mixtape reportedly surpassed 12,000 downloads, while his catalogue eventually grew to hundreds of mixes.

Beyond mixing, DJ Manni has been credited with supporting and helping expose artists including Stonebwoy, Kaakie, Iwan, Rudebwoy Ranking and other talents from Ghana's Dancehall movement. His extensive catalogue includes projects dedicated to Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Iwan, Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Masicka, Mavado, Samini, Sarkodie, R2Bees and many others.

His influence has also been recognised within Ghana's DJ industry. He has repeatedly appeared among nominees for Reggae/Dancehall DJ of the Year, including at the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2021 Ghana DJ Awards, while his GH Dancehall Mix was also nominated for Best Mixtape DJ.

Today, DJ Manni continues to release and host mixes, maintaining his identity as a selector and champion of Ghanaian Dancehall and Reggae music. His ongoing Ghana Dancehall Mixtape series—including Volume 27 released in October 2026—shows that he remains active in the culture.

**DJ Manni is more than a DJ—he is a curator, promoter and sound-system soldier whose mixtapes helped connect Ghana's Dancehall movement with audiences beyond Ghana. 🇬🇭🎧🔥** by @djmanni
