Still buzzing from this one.To kick off the new 2-hour format on @voicesradio I had @avibecalledb join me in the studio, and she absolutely shelled it in only a proper open format dj could. Heavy edits throughout, moving across dancehall, hip-hop, afrobeat, amapiano, and trap. Genuinely such an incredible set, and a pleasure to witness in the studio. Earlier this month, I signed off my role as the in-house designer at the legendary Jazz Cafe.Without exaggeration, it was one of the most challenging roles I’ve ever taken on. Some days meant creating four bespoke posters alongside the day-to-day workload. It was fast paced and relentless. One minute you were finishing artwork, the next you were jumping into mailers, amends, redesigns, social posts or video edits. At times I genuinely wondered if I could keep up with the demands.But after a while, something shifts. You find your rhythm, trust your instincts, and learn to execute with clarity and confidence. There’s no time to overthink or let imposter syndrome creep in. You just get on with it and do the best work you can. And honestly, stepping into the venue and seeing packed crowds connecting through music always made the hard work feel worthwhile.A big thank you to The Columbo team for trusting me with the role, and to the incredible @thejazzcafe team, front of house and behind the scenes, who work tirelessly to make a small venue one of London’s true cultural gems.I’m now back to freelancing.
