This was recorded April 2014. First time I ever recorded my two handed faderless technique the “Jammer Scratch” on video. I came up with this technique back in the late 90s. After seeing Scratch Master @djqbert fearless swipe technique in the mid 90s, his technique blew my mind but I wasn’t able to execute that scratch. Instead, I was able to come up with a different style. I didn’t realize I came up with something new until I asked Qbert at a NAMM show around 2012. When I demonstrated my technique, Qbert asked what do you call that? 2016 was a key year for me. After winning the USA DMC Scratch Championship in 2014, I was unsure about competing again. But when @idausaofficial announced their first USA Scratch Championship, I decided to enter last minute. The finals consisted of many future champions.

Winning led to an invite to join the @thebeatjunkies “Watch the Sound” series, where I met some of my idols for the first time.

I also represented the USA at the IDA World Scratch Championships and ranked first in the elimination round. Looking back, I’m grateful I participated, as it opened many doors and connected me with important people in my life. Without battling, I would have missed these opportunities. #turntabletuesdays #djprolifix #carlosgallardo by @djprolifix
